Twist Cafe 3.0 star review: Went there for my friend's birthday. The staff are friendly and polite. The atmosphere is nice. It's a nice place too. Unfortunately despite ending with a chocolate brownie that is absolutely to die for, I was very disappointed with the food overall. The breaded sardines were lovely but the prawns (I asked for Tempura and am pretty sure I got the other prawns by mistake) had a batter on them that was so greasy I felt nauseous. The Seafood Paella had something weird at the bottom: we conclused it was lemon that had sat for so long in the bottom of the pot it must have soaked up everything from the pot but we had tasted it thinking it was seafood!! It was gross. Also the mussels tasted odd and I am a big fan of mussels so I know the difference! Won't be in a hurry back sadly! :(

Twist Cafe 3.5 star review: The food is very tasty and because you can bring your own wine the cost is quite reasonable, always a plus!! Tables are very close together and can become very noisy. Esp if you are there as a couple and a group is seated beside you :0( We had an unfortunate mix up with orders which meant that I had to eat my meal alone as my husband was well finished before the mix up with my meal was resolved. In fairness I think this was due to new staff. Overall however I would recommend.

Twist Cafe 3.0 star review: Have eaten here several times for lunch and the food is always fab. The only down fall for us is they don't have any baby changing table in the bathroom even though the bathroom is very large and there are always loads of children in the cafe

Twist Cafe 3.0 star review: Are here lastnight with a gang of people. We were the only people in the restaurant. The table was not big enough and after standing round for a bit we moved tables ourselves to sit down together. The service wasn't great. Food was ok, but overpriced. Restaurant was freezing and we said it to them several times. Not impressed.

Twist Cafe 4.5 star review: Dined tonight with my family of 4. As read in menupages was exactly true. Food great - greeting poor and felt rushed. The waitress on greeting us made us feel as if we didnt have a reservations and pointed us to a table beside a table of 16 celebrating a 40th birthday. The rest of the restaurant was empty so couldnt understand why. No favours to us or them. Trying to crack a a smile on the waitress was impossible and she made us feel uncomfortable and hence we left left and had ice creams on the street for desert just to get out. Pity because the food was perfect - defo wont return, We stayed in Carton hse and keen to try somewhere outside of the hotel. Real pity she made us feel that way...

Twist Cafe 3.0 star review: Went for dinner in Twist last Sat and was a little disappointed. This place is great for a cheap night out as you can bring your own wine and usually the food is quite food. We booked for 7pm, the place was quite empty but did fill up over the night. We ordered two tapas to start the pate and the mini bruschetta, the pate was delicious but the bruschetta was freezing cold, it had obviously been made a lot earlier in the day and wasnt nice at all. We then had the calamari and the pan fried tiger prawns with a side of chips. Again the prawns were lovely but the calamari was overcooked and the accompanying sauce was very strange indeed, didnt like it at, chips were also disappointing as were very chunky and some not cooked properly. Did have some lovely hot coffees after but overall wasnt impressed and wouldnt be in a hurry to return.

Twist Cafe 5.0 star review: 5 stars...The Tapas are FAB, I absolulty love that you can bring your own bottle of wine with you (when your watching the pennies)..It means you can have an overall great meal and take your favourite wine with you for a fraction of the cost of eating in any other restaurant in Maynooth!

Twist Cafe 5.0 star review: One of my favourite restaurants ever!

I come here for lunch quite a bit with a friend of mine who lives in Dunboyne, such a healthy nice menu!

I just wish it was closer to where I live and I would be in there constantly!

Twist Cafe 4.0 star review: ate there today, was ok place , prices reasonable enough, 1 waitress came down just as we sat down and asked us were we ready to order? we had just sat down. my partner had soup was not very hot, bacon in breakfast was way over cooked and they gave 2 fried eggs, a bit strange. Other than that was pleasent enough, nothing exciting to be honest

Twist Cafe 1.0 star review: I went here for lunch a few weeks ago and found it terrible. I had a mixed tapas dish, my wife had a wrap. The tapas was poor but the wrap was without doubt the worst food I've seen in Maynooth, the price of it was truly shocking for what you get. Having been a fan of breakfasts here in the past - purely on food quality I have to say I won't be back again.
