liked the fact it was packed which is a good sign , husband ordered his steak medium but it was rare when he got into middle but wouldnt complain, i felt a little put out as there was not a lot on the menu if you are trying to be healty , didnt opt for dessert others did and was not happy , but overall i would go back and hopefully the menu would have a little bit more, the staff were quite friendly

Ok we were here on a sunday for carvery, so it wouldnt be fair to judge the entire culinary scape on this alone, but as carvery's go, it was below par. very 90's.I know a carvery is a carvery, but a little imagination with the menu wouldnt go a astray, salmon with citrus butter, beef curry(powdered just add water kind), stuffing which was literally only breadcrumbs and dried herbs, stodgy tastless gravy, and the usually staple joints. i worked in hotel's for years, i know it doesnt require much effort to make proper roasties, so as soon as i saw the deep fried boiled potatoes being passed off as roasties, that summed it up for me, i was with a party and wasnt paying, so i suffered through it and said nothing, as i say, a carvery is a carvery, but there was no effort in here at all.

I have been eating there for years and tonight we went to try their new a la carte menu. Normally we would have the Hotel special but seeing as we got a flyer with a discount on it we say we would give it a go. The restaurant was very busy but we were seated immediately and the service was instant. We couldn't fault the service it was great. We felt that the waiter couldn't do enough for us. The menu was varied and great value for money. I had the chicken wings to start, a good generous portion, the duck as my main course and it was perfect. My friend had a 6oz steak and she said it was so tender. Over all the whole night was very enjoyable the service was excellent and very friendly we felt very welcome and the food was just great and brilliant value for money and the portions very generous. They also have a new wine list that is reasonably priced and has plenty of house wines to choose from. Well done Springfield . We will be back and will be recommending you to our friends.
