Dropped in here this afternoon for something to eat. We stood for a few minutes at the entrance to the lounge while four waiters looked at us, said nothing, and continued to talk amongst themselves. We got fed up waiting so we seated ourselves at a comfortable table. Menu is standard lounge/bar fare so we both ordered scampi and chips and tea for two. Took a bit of time for our meal to arrive, and while that’s usually a good sign that a meal is being cooked freshly, we can't say we were over excited with it when it arrived. The chips were good and chunky, if a bit overdone, the side salad was adequate, but the coating on the scampi was hard as a bullet. They were obviously cooked for too long. We didn't dare plunge our forks into them for fear they would up shooting across the room, we so ate the individual pieces with our fingers! The surroundings in the lounge are quite nice, and the wall of bottles behind the counter is a good feature. I liked the ladder that is pushed along on a rail to facilitate access to the higher bottles. It reminded me of some of the old drapery shops in Dublin when I was growing up. However, nice surroundings didn't compensate for the very average meal we had today. It cost €25 for the two of us, which wouldn't break the bank, but I've hard far nicer meals for less money in other eateries. Service was good at our table but it’s a pity we had that encounter with indifferent staff when we first entered the lounge. Overall it was a bit of a disappointment as we'd heard a lot about the Osprey, but it didn't deliver for us today unfortunately.

We decided to bring our in-laws here on Friday evening. Waiter was a very nice. We ordered drinks. We tried to order starters but some items on the menu were not available, would have been handy to know this from the waiter when he first served us our drinks. So, we ended up ordering two bowls of chicken wings. We ordered stakes and fish for our mains. The fish was outstanding, the steaks were barely lukewarm and fatty. We had waited long enough on them that we ate them. My father-in-law finished his meal but the rest of us were still eating, the waiter arrived over and cleared his plate away. The waiter did this as each of us finished our meals, which I found very strange. There seemed to be a lot of staff on, so maybe the waiter was looking for something to do instead of standing around. I’m at a wedding in the Osprey in a couple of weeks. Really hope there is a vast improvement !

We visited here on a Monday night, 4 girls for a natter and a cheap bite to eat. No starters, 2 had caesar salad as a main and 2 had steak sandwich. The Caesar was good but the steak was tough, tasteless, fatty and lukewarm. we order 2 desserts between the four of us, they were disappointing as both the chocolate cake and the Baileys cheesecake tasted of coconut!! With coffees the bill came to EUR88. Waiter was very pleasant and helpful. It is a good place to linger over a coffee and have a chat.

Just 3 pm arrived for a late lunch, ordered eventually after long wait for staff, ordered Madra's chicken curry which was much much closer to a masala than a madras, not a pinch of flavour and i love my corriander. Rice was well cooked but there was too much bits and pieces in it. Anyway the waiter who noticed after 45 mins that we still hadnt recieved our food was a lovely fella. Anyway wont be returning, very expensive for very poor service and below average food. 1 and a half hours from start to finish lunch, lucky we weren't in a rush.

Group of four of us ate here, lovely menu. I went for the battered cod which was nice, others got the steak sandwich which they enjoyed too. Service was a bit hit and miss but would definitely eat here again. Good value.

Was staying in the hotel for the night and went to the bar for dinner. It took us a while to get the attention of someone to order even though we asked at the bar to send someone down. When we got the food it was lovely, i had the beef stir fry. Others had the lasagne and beef burger and all seemed happy with them.

After my visit there on Sunday evening I do not intend to return.I loved this place in the past but the service and food has really gone downhill. We went there at 7.00 pm on Sunday and sat for 10 minutes trying to attract a waiter to order a drink and menu.I gave up and went to the bar and ordered my drinks and took 2 menus to my table. Another 10 minutes went by before the waitress brought the drinks to the table before taking the menus away before we could get a chance to order any food.I asked another waitress to take an order and showed her the used cutlery and old food under our table and seat. She went to report it but never returned so we didn't actually get to eat but instead went down the town. There were plenty of staff on but they seemed toreally lack training or have any interest in the job.

Had lunch here today. I've only ever been here during the week when they do carvery at lunchtime and usually have a nice sandwich made up to order which is always tasty. The a la carte menu was only available today and the menu read quite nice but what we got after a very lengthly wait was not good. I ordered the chicken wings which were neither hot, sour or sticky as the menu said, they were miserable wings deep fried within an inch of their life. Definitely way over priced at €8.50. Side order of skinny chips were over cooked. Left most of the food. No one came to check on us in fact the staff seemed under pressure even though it wasn't busy. We odered tea which never arrived and our dirty plates were still in front of us half an hour after we were done.

Went last night with my family for birthday treat, Very Disappointed. It started off good, we all had different starters which everyone enjoyed, Main course not so good, from group of seven people only three ate most of their food, other four only ate mouthful. Place was empty, I can see why. Service was very good, waitress were very helpful. Would not recommend this place, also will not be back.

Dropped in for a late lunch and found a nice quite corner sofa. Our order was taken shortly afterwards and arrived approx 10 mins later. I would recommend the sea food chowder which is thick and creamy with loads of sea food and smoked fish, its nearly a meal in itself! The mains were tasty, we ordered the scampi and pork chops. Tea and coffee was served with those sugar sticks and a little biscuit which rounded off the lunch perfectly. Excellent service but they could review the lunch main prices as they are expensive - approx €14
