L'Officina by Dunne & Crescenzi (Kildare) 0.1 star review: The worst meal I can remember eating. Risotto a horrible combination of overcooked courgettes and undercooked rice. Lentil soup inedible. Bruschetta, which should be a safe option, absolutely terrible. Been to this chain in other locations and always left happy. This place has really dropped the ball. Won't be back in Kildare.

L'Officina by Dunne & Crescenzi (Kildare) 3.0 star review: This was my second time here, first time I was paying so I realised that the food is overpriced, the selection of food was not great and the starters were extremely pricey with goats cheese bruschetta a whopping 9e! The house wine was good and the service was good, however it was very busy and that set a bustling atmosphere for our meal, I would have preferred a more relaxing venue but there isn't another option unfortunately!

L'Officina by Dunne & Crescenzi (Kildare) 2.0 star review: The first time I visited I have really enjoyed but this time I had the worst lasagne in my life - just pasta and dry overcooked burned meat with no sauce and maybe a spoon of parmesan on the top. Didn't really have a chance to complain as nobody checked on us and service was very chaotic even though there was a lot of staff. The rest of the food for the table was OK.

L'Officina by Dunne & Crescenzi (Kildare) 1.0 star review: I was very disappointed with my trip here. The lack of choice in Kildare Village meant we ended up going here.

We went to the 'fast food' section of the restaurant where you can get a few different sandwiches, ice cream cones and coffee.

Was intitially irritated by the que of about 12 people ahead of me; fast service was not their priority. I watched the lady in front of me get served the incorrect meal twice all while the rude waitress huffed and puffed. She then asked for a cup for her can of soft drink. This too was a big inconvenience.

I ordered a coffee (all overpriced) and an ice cream (which at this stage was half melted as I had to get it from the ice cream stand at the other end of the café). The waitress did not greet me in any way and when I asked for a glass of water she pointed at the bar.

I will definitely not be returning here even if it is one of the few options there!

L'Officina by Dunne & Crescenzi (Kildare) 4.0 star review: Was here recently on a Monday & the place was heaving, which was great to see. We were seated promptly & our order taken nearly straight away which was good. Ordered the Bruschetta which was lovely & fresh, exactly what is expected from a Bruschetta, had the Salmon pasta, always my favourite there, very tasty. Lattes always top notch, piping hot & good quality.. Would recommend here to my friends, just if there busy they can sometimes be stretched but other than that food good quality..

L'Officina by Dunne & Crescenzi (Kildare) 4.0 star review: The husband, son and I took a break from shopping and headed into L'Officina just after 12.30pm on a wet bank holiday Saturday. We were just in time. We beat the queues. The husband had a bowl of minestrone, which he described as tasty, with plenty of vegetables and not having the canned tomato aftertaste. He could choose from white or brown bread. The son had a bagel with steaky bacon, cream chees and jalapeno relish. All I can get out of him is that it was good. I had the Siena sausage ciabatta: not as exciting as I'd expected. Afterwards the husband had a very generous portion of tira misu: luscious (I thought there was too much cocoa on top). The son had pinenut custard tart which he described as "really nice." I had a selection of biscuits: all well presented and tasty except for the hazelnut and chocolate ones. The food, a smoothie and two coffees came to about Eu46, including service charge. The service was mostly efficient and charming, the exception being a delay in bringing two of the desserts. The husband thinks it was a little on the expensive side for what it was. I thought it was fair.

L'Officina by Dunne & Crescenzi (Kildare) 4.0 star review: Visited on a very wet and windy Saturday and the restaurant was packed! We'd a main course, glass of wine and a coffee each, the food was lovely, very fresh and tasty too! Setvice was good in spots but not consistant. We paid €25 each including a tip, so not the cheapest lunch but enjoyable all the same!

L'Officina by Dunne & Crescenzi (Kildare) 4.0 star review: A very good Italian restaurant given it is situated in this very busy shopping outlet with no other lunch/dinner competition. There is no doubt it is more often than not very busy and noisy. Having said this, I continue to queue for a table here each time I visit Kildare Village as it is a great place to meet a friend for a catch up and a good bite to eat. The wait staff do not rush you and are efficient and polite, characteristics which remain important for a positive dining experience.
On my most recent visit I ordered bruscetta to share for starter which was lovely with a generous portion of fresh and tasty chopped tomatoes with olive oil, salt and basil. Simple, uncomplicated and delicious as this dish should be.
Next I had a Vegetarian Tortellini. It a was a nice sized portion, was tasty, albeit quite salty. Looking around me I noticed that many people had opted for the panini options, which I have had in the past. Irish people really should move away from the love of the safe sandwich. Italian food, particularly in this authentic Italian restaurant is quite delicious and there is more to it than lasangne, pizza and paninis, as the menu in L'Officiana proves.
I find the dishes are a little bit pricey, up to 14 Euros for a simple pasta dish. Having said this I am willing to return to this restaurant again and again as the quality and service are very good indeed. One criticism, however, is the opening hours which do not extend past the opening shopping hours and thus an evening meal in L'Officiana is not an option.

L'Officina by Dunne & Crescenzi (Kildare) 4.0 star review: had lunch here with 2 friends we had to q for a table as the place was so busy. we were seated quiet quickly at a table at the end of the restauant. we ordered a bruchetta to share between the 3 of us which was flavoursom for such a simple dish. my two friends ordered pasta with salmon which looked a very generous portion. i had a taste and it was great if a bit salty. i had a pannini of goats cheese and italian sausage which also was very good and came with a few leaves at the side. the service was better this time than before as we were in a hurry and asked for the bill quickly and they organised that with no problem. if you are looking for a quiet lunch this is not the place for you as it always a bit noisey. but couldnt fault the food. the bill came to €49.

L'Officina by Dunne & Crescenzi (Kildare) 4.0 star review: Went to Kildare Village for my day off, retail therapy. I did not know Crescenzi's chain is here. More spacious, and comfortable, though lashing rain outside. Food was superb, food quality with good Italian standard. But have to say service was bit inefficient, I have to take the menu myself from the central bench, go to the counter to give my orders, and go to the counter to pay, otherwise I will be waiting for ages to be served. Felt like going to premium-class Self-service Bistro.

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika

Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
