The Grand Hotel 3.5 star review: Had a late lunch/ early dinner here with my mother and a friend on our visit to Tralee. Service was friendly but little slow. I ordered chicken fajitas, and it was served on a dish that I would expect but was covered in a gloopy sauce that reminded me of chinese sweet and sour- typically the chicken and the peppers and onions are marinated and chargrilled. My mum had a prawn salad in which the oriental style prawns were lovely but she did not like the mayonnaisey dressing. My friends burger and chicken wings were fine. The bar is nice and cosy and decorated in a nice old fashioned way. Plusses for the cosiness, minus for not knowing how to cook such a popular dish as fajitas - it really should not have a sauce that reminds you of chinese food!
