The Carlton Hotel 3.5 star review: We stayed in the hotel a couple of days with my mum who was visiting. On the night of the arrival we decided to dine in the hotel as tired from the long travel. Due to some music event, the restaurant was fully booked and we were lucky to get a table in the bar. The table was in the middle of the path people used to enter and exit the bar, so it was like sitting in a corridor and the chairs, albeit comfortable were low and so was the table so not comfy for eating. Our waitresses and waiters were the nicest I've ever met anywhere so full marks for service, couldn't ask for better service. I had a goats cheese starter and a green curry for mains - the starter was lovely but the curry was not quite right. Also it was served with very spicy rice which is not the done thing with curry. My mum ordered a prawn salad, which was otherwise nice but the dressing was very thick with mayo and wasn't pleasant. My desert of baileys mousse tasted only of cream and not of baileys really. So albeit all the food was pleasant, it wasn't quite right and hence not value for money. The hotel itself I'd highly recommend.

The Carlton Hotel 3.0 star review: Four of us had a snack in the bar - each of us had just a plain sandwich and 1 portion of fries between us + 1 tea, 1 coffee & 2 Fanta & the bill came to almost €37!!! totally overpriced! Service was good and it was a nice airy place with spotless restrooms but far too expensive for what we got. Doubt I'll return! sorry!!!
