Derryclare Restaurant 3.5 star review: I have dined here on numerous occasions on my visits to Clifden, and most recently last week. Found the food quite nice, and priced reasonable. On the second night we got a take-away Pizza which was delicious. I found the staff to be really pleasant, and they ensured we were well looked after. Clifden has so many wonderful restaurants, many well priced & enjoyable, many over-rated too, but I've always enjoyed my trips to the Derryclare, and also enjoyed it this time

Derryclare Restaurant 3.0 star review: Ate here on a very busy bank hol weekend evening. restaurant was extremely busy and buzzy. We were holidaying in the area and found this to be a good restaurant for our family with young children. They do not have a burger on the menu but the owner very kindly organised a fresh homemade one for our son with no issue at all. Lots of families here. Handy for the area in clifden centre where some of the reataurants whilst lovely are pricey with young children.Lovely bread with tasty olive tapenade was the appetiser, pizza was simple and tasty, partners lamb pie was gorgeous. Simple tasty food, would return with the kids.

Derryclare Restaurant 1.5 star review: Went here for an early dinner. Place was extremely quiet. Service was pretty slow, although staff were courteous. Food was average, had cod and chips. The location is nice with the tables outside. Inside was very quiet and no atmosphere at all. Ate food and left fairly fast. Probably wouldnt eat here again.

Derryclare Restaurant 2.5 star review: We went here for an evening meal, the restaurant was very quiet. We had to move down the back because the front door was left open and there was a very cold breeze coming in. There was a good selection on the menu. But I found the main courses pricey. I had the fajitas which were very tasty and Himself had a pizza which was very basic and tasted like it was made with ragu sauce. I thought the food wasn't worth the money, especially at that time of year when there aren't as many tourists.

Derryclare Restaurant 5.0 star review: One of the best meals I have eaten in a very long time! We brought a group of 11 people there on Saturday. We had no booking but they accommodated us very quickly and were extremely nice about it! The staff were very friendly and the service was very good. Everything was great until we got the food. Then it got even better! 7 of us had the 12 oz steak and it was divine! Perfectly cooked with a nice portion of mash on the side. Everything was served in a timely manner and not 1 of the 11 was unhappy with anything.

Very good value for the quality we got!

Tip: Vanilla McCluster is the way forward for dessert!

Excellent find for us and we'll definitely return!

Derryclare Restaurant 4.0 star review: Pretty good food. I came in hoping for good pizza (their sign outside says pizza) but was told after looking over the menu and not seeing pizza on it that I had to ask for the pizza menu specifically.

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika

Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
