I liked this place a lot, very nice bar food options and a decent wine list to boot. Esparanza verdejo is quite delicious. The wings are quite simply epic and while the service is friendly, it can be a little slow. They have a bakery onsite too so expect all kinds of nice treats

Said I would try this for a friday night meal after reading some favourable reviews on here. Was staying locally in a cottege for the weekend and after some pre dinner drinks in a well know local bar we came across to the Twelve. There was a nice buzz for a friday night, staff were busy but friendly. Menu was varied with food to suit all tastes. Portions were goood too and good value for what we paid.
It also had wifi internet access which was great for people like ourselves on the go.
I would recommend it.

Came here for food with the inlaws, the quality of the food was excellent, all members of the party were delighted with this. it was very busy so it was a little slow with the service but nothing to be overly concerned about. The set menu is very good value with good choice for every taste.

Stayed in the hotel & ended up eating in Pins Bistro everyday, sometimes twice a day!! the kids adored it & us adults really enjoyed it too. Service was excellent (especially our waiter). The food was lovely with a very diverse menu. Every meal we had was fantastic and very reasonably priced too. The goats cheese tartlet, sweet potato curry, battered fish, caesar salad were all fab! We will definitely return!

Through no prior planning I've managed to end up eating at the Twelve for the past two sundays!
On both occasions the service has been great and the food superb. The Calamari was probably the best I've had in a very long time, could do with a bigger serving though.
Colm served us and we had plenty of banter with him which is nice and by all accounts he seems to be a hit with the locals.
It was Fathers Day so obviously very busy, but the service was still as good as the previous week.
I would definitely recommend it and will be back.

This bar is really relaxed and the staff are friendly and helpful. The menu is large and I like the two course menu for €20. I tried the sunday lunch before which was really nice with a great atmosphere. It also does nice pastries in the morning if you fancy an escape for a coffee and to read the papers

Have been here several times with family and friends. There is a very relaxed atmosphere with lots of warmth and nice books to browse through on the shelves if you are just looking for a quite cup of tea etc.
The food here is really good, especially the pizza, the dough is really nice, just needs a stronger tomato sauce base. The salmon with pasta is also very nice. Also try the goats chees for starters. The desserts are all homemade and included a yummy bread and butter pudding. However It is quite expensive for bar food like the soup is €5.20 which I think is a bit much served only with one slice of bread. The sandwiches are also quite overpriced at over €9. I would suggest sharing a pizza and a beer early evening or going for the set menu for better value

Absolutely nothing I could fault with this place, everything was fantastic. The portions are huge and everything was so fresh and the combination of flavours was amazing! I have the goats cheese tart to start and my partner had the seafood chowder both received good reviews and for mains steak and prawns. The prawns where so tasty with the cucumber and apple salad something I never would have tried. The steak was cooked to perfection as ordered and the veg too. The staff where so friendly and always on hand if you needed anything. I will definitely be making my way to Galway again for a trip to the pins.

4.5 The Pins Bar @ The Twelve Hotel 4.5 star review:
I spent a long weekend at the Twelve hotel with my boyfriend towards the end of January. We were disappointed to find that the highly regarded West restaurant was closed during our stay. I am glad to report that the Pins Bar menu was more than capable keeping us happy.
We ate in the Pins Bar on the 1st and 3rd nights of a 3 night stay. We ate in Galway city on the 2nd night somewhere we were advised was a top eatery in Galway, and both myself and my boyfriend both agreed that the food in the Pins bar the previous evening had been better!
There was a great set menu for €20.50 that included a speciality Twelve hotel cocktail, plus 2 courses. My boyfriend went for the set menu the first night and enjoyed the calamari for starter and pork belly special for main. Both were beautifully cooked and presented. I went for the blackened cod wrapped in speck. It was absolutely beautiful, melted in my mouth. Nicest main i have had in ages.
The menu is actually a lot more bigger and more varied than the full menu on the menupages website would suggest.
The 2nd meal we had there wasn't quite so good. We both went for the set menu. It was a busy saturday night and there were no specials on offer. One of the mains had been sold out, so there was only a choice of 2 mains. We both enjoyed a berry infused cocktail, a decent main of bacon and colcanan, which neither of us had tasted in sometime and some beautiful poached pears for dessert.
For bar food it was excellent and easily of the same quality of food served in top Dublin restaurants. The wine list was a little limited, but reasonably priced. The atmosphere was relaxed, and service was efficient and friendly without being over bearing. I would definately recommend this eatery to a friend, and plan to eat there again when I vist Galway with family in April.
