called in here on sunday morning looking for a bite of tasty food - was so very very disappointed!
there was a party of 4 and amoungst us we had the roast of lamb which the potatoes and veg were cold.
salmon - which was very bland
fishpie - which consisted of more potaotes than anything else and
chicken gougons and chips - pretty tasteless also,
the food here seems to have gone down hill as has the service, a table of 4 we waited at least 20 minutes before our dishes were brought down to us, then only 2 arrived, 5 minutes later one more and then about 2 minutes later the final one, And we were handed a bill of €70 - surely there has to be better value eateries out there....???

4.5 The Huntsman Inn 4.5 star review:
I came here with a friend for lunch and we both had the Beef Burger from the lunch menu. It wasn't particularly busy, however our food did take quite a while to arrive. The Burger was lovely and very big, but very delicious. I particularly loved the side salad, which had a herb dressing, with grated carrot and it also came with lovely Handcut Chips. I have eaten here before, and am always satisfied. A friend recommended the Chowder for starer, and I was tempted, however I'm glad I didn't as the Burger itself is so filling, I couldn't finish it all! I would definitely recommend The Huntsman, as it's one of my favourite eateries in Galway city.

4.5 The Huntsman Inn 4.5 star review:
The food was very nice although the options were a bit limited. I enjoyed the chicken fillet burger. The presentation was different but I liked it. Service was excellent, there was no delay in ordering and the food arrived quickly. It was very quiet when we arrived but the place filled up quickly. Location was also excellent - on the edge of town with loads of parking.

We popped in here for lunch last Sunday ( I did call to book earlier that morning as it is always very busy). The service was very rushed and seemed to be understaffed. We both ordered main courses, I had the hake which was nice and my partner ordered the fish pie which was very tasty. Both came with side salads which were fine. I had the pavlova for dessert which was gorgeous. I thought it was a bit over priced for " pub grub" as there wasn't much to either main course.

Incredibly disappointed today. The dinner of two halves. Lazy food was handed out, the batter was not fully cooked on my fish, chef didn't turn it while cooking and felt it acceptably to serve. My chips were a mix of cooked properly and over cooked. I go here because it's consistently good, but not today. Lazy.

3.0 The Huntsman Inn 3.0 star review:
Food was nice but totally overpriced! E.g. almost €9 for a plain chicken wrap with a tiny salad on the side!! Chicken salad with mango was delicious. The open egg mayonnaise sandwich tasted really fishy...like of smoked salmon!!! Not nice!! Great parking, ery nice pub, very clean bathrooms but prices are ridiculous. Our waitress was quite surly from the off but maybe she was just having a bad day! Won't be in a hurry back.

2.5 The Huntsman Inn 2.5 star review:
I like the huntsman as a pub which is why I gave it 4 for atmosphere but that's what it is... A pub. Charging restaurant prices for pub grub. That being said there are plenty of places in the city where you would get restaurant food more affordable than this.We ordered crab claws to start and while we were waiting another couple who ordered a fair bit after us had been served their starter, when it did come it was overcooked. Then for the main, which also came after the other table had theirs, I had chicken fajitas, which were ok, and my partner had pork, which was quite nice but a tiny portion, for €19 you would expect more. I could live with waiting for food if the food was good value and quality, but I feel no one should have to pay above €15 euros for a main in a pub. I live in Galway and will not be recommending the huntsman. There cheaper, better eats to be had in Galway.
