We sat down to our table at 7pm and by 7.40 we still had not recieved our starters.Every other table around us was served at least 1 course and alot of other diners who entered after us were being well looked after. It took the lady in charge 20 minutes to drop us down our wine and she passed our way at least a dozen times without even mentioning some excuses like 'our food is on the way'.After 40 minutes we up adn left and her so called attempt at customer service leaves an awful lot to be desired. This was our second visit to this restaurant and we will never return.POOR MANAGEMENT.

Had a meal here with my friends during Race weekend I have to say the food is very tasty during one of the busiest Sat of the year in Galway it was essential to book. I have to say it was a little cramped but the staff were excellent as I think they had been short staffed people were still coming in for tables at 10. I had a lovely brusheta and my friend had garlic bread, my friend's pizza was delicious and my carbonara was very flavoursome with a good bottle of house white we were too full to manage desserts. I would come again but maybe during a quieter w/end I wouldn't bring a large crowd here as it is a bit tight for space

This is a lovely restaurant. Visited it at 8pm we ordered a pizza each and shared a carafe of lovely Italian red wine ( a very reasonable €19). The pizzas were generous in size and delicious. I couldn't finish mine so I brought it home to enjoy the next day, which I did.Service was speedy and very friendly.
I will definitely return.

had a meal here today, absolutly delicious, im living in dublin and just came down here for the weekend and ive never ever had a better italian meal anywhere in the country, there was only one complaint, that is the portions are huge, and i mean huge, just be very hungry when you go there and there wont be any complaints, the brusheta and bolognese would have easily have fed the tow of us happily, im only sorry i had to go home

We visited here on a wet night last week with no booking but were shown to a table immediately. The menu was varied & I went for a Mozzarella & Spinach pastry & my fiance went for Bruschetta. Both were lovely tho I favoured the Bruscetta in the end. Main courses were both pasta based- Spaghetti Bolognese & Fusilli with chicken & broccoli. Nothing out of the ordinary. Desserts were another matter. The affogato was the best I'd ever tasted. A bottle of red wine,a Baileys coffee & a double espresso completed the evening's dining. The only downside was the service. The lady who served us first was a bit brusque & we heard her speaking to other diners in quite a sharp tone. The young man who looked after us at the end of the evening when the lady had gone home was the opposite-very friendly. Total was €90.

My girlfriend had it book for 9pm but we got delayed for 25min....staff were very nice to greet us and have table set within seconds.Even thou we were served by 3 different waiters we still had brilliant service. We had Vegetariana and Frutti di mare pizzas. Was prepared in less than 15 min and was absolutely beautiful and filling.Cute lil Italian restaurant with perfect atmosphere. Also recommend House white wine.
Thank you Il Folletto and we'll be back for more.

Il Folletto was recommended to me by friends so my boyfriend and I decided to check it out. The restaurant decor is typical Italian, warm, inviting and romantic, staff are extremely friendly and offer great service, with a vast selection of pasta dishes on offer it was difficult to choose just one.. in the end we decided on sharing a pizza as starter which was thin based, crispy and full of flavour, for mains I had the lamb ragu with fresh orrechiette and my other half had the escalopes of veal with artichokes and marsala wine, the flavours and presentation were outstanding truly delicous, there is an extensive dessert list and even though we were pretty full we couldnt resist the temptation of homemade desserts on offer, we decided on the chocolate pudding and tiramsiu both were again indulging and delicious. I love this place! by far the best Italian in Galway, we will go back for sure, many times I hope!!!

Visited Il Foletto on the final night of a short break in Galway. While not the most authentic Italian restaurant I have ever visited, it was still a good value, good food experience.
Having had a few days of very rich food, we opted for something simple. I had the spaghetti carbonara and my partner had penne al salmon. We also had a carafe of wine and some homemade bread.
The pastas were both good, with lots of flavours. Our wine was a pinot grigio and was very good for a carafe based wine.

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. i found the service here to be very slow and it took three different staff to serve us. the price was reasonable. the food was ok, i had pasta carbonnara. The location was suitable.

I have eaten here twice of late and have not been disappointed on either occasion. Our last meal was at the height of race week and the staff were still friendly and helpful in spite of being very busy. I had the seafood tagliatelle which I found had a lovely fresh seafood flavour. I would have had the squid slightly less well done but the clams and mussels were excellent as was the tomato based sauce. My girlfriend had the fresh pasta ravioli which was delicious but could have been a slightly larger serving. The bread could have been fresher but for my money Il Foletto offers good food and value for money.
