Great decor and very spacious! But since I was on a weekend away to Galway, I was glad to find a relaxing spot without being rushed despite being a Saturday. Before leaving home I had checked out Menupages for menu details of 2/3 Indian restaurants. We decided to venture this place - wife's choice! Found out that this used to be a part of a chain set up in the 80s. Food is nice but quite oily. Menu lacks creativity - same dishes of a standard Indian that has been around since the 80s. We shared a meat platter which was quite big. Main course portions are very generous. They also have beer on the tap, which was a bonus for me. Spoke to a member of staff who said that they do takeaways. BTW, I did a price comparison after returning back.. the prices on Menupages vary quite a with those in the restaurant. For the benefit of others, check their website.

1.5 Eastern Tandoori (Galway) 1.5 star review:
Place is nicely decorated but food and service do no justice. To start the dips were as they were used and not refreshed. Starters were some veg platter...All the options were just loaded with oil and dull. Mains we had lentils which were not boiled fully and hard, Chickpea dish which was just full of tomato puree. Naan breads were just like thick doughs. And poor waiting staff didn't seem to understand a word of english.Disappointed visit

Nice restaurant food very nice - simple touches all there - table water not chlorinated with a dash of lemon. Table service very good. A little rushed in getting us out of the restaurant. The bhuna beef was particularly tasty. Would I eat there again - probably not as there are better indian restaurants in Galway.

i eat here alot as im visitin galway with work alot. and last nite was like any other nite in easten tandoori, nothing changes with this place and that means the staff also. the service is always the same polite with you topping your own wine but when your use to it you know what to expect. the food is always the same, and i do njoy it. the presentation never changes, dry salad with everyting. but i will keep retuning as i love it and its so close to my hotel that we stay in. cheers guys and c u soon.
