Busker Brownes 4.0 star review: Went for lunch here when on weekend in Galway it was so tasty. We Got toasted sambo and chips and onion rings they were the nicest toasties we have had served with a lovely side salad the onion rings were freshly made not frozen. Even got free wine with Lunch very nice touch. Going back to Galway in June will be going to resturant this time for dinner.

Busker Brownes 3.5 star review: I go mainly here to drink but have eaten here on occasion. Service is quite good and it has a good atmosphere. Mix of young and older crowd. Food is not great and overpriced in my opinion. The bangers and mash are good though.

Busker Brownes 1.0 star review: Having not visited Busker's in a while we returned to see if the quality had improved as we genuinely liked eating there in the past but found it had gone downhill somewhat. As we were not starving we decided to have just an open sandwich and my partner had soup.

I ordered an open chicken sandwich as I loved these as they are very filling and the portions good. The waiter arrived with my sandwich and it was a closed one. I mentioned to him immediately that it was in fact an open sandwich that I had ordered. He looked at me as if to suggest "well now you have it, you might aswell keep it". But he did go back and get the order corrected.

To say it was measly was probably the best way I could describe it. Usually before you would get two chunky slices of homemade brown bread. This was just like thin soda bread and it was just not enough. There was enough chicken and onion, but immediately after eating it I was hungry again. Within half an hour I was eating a bag of chips! I was very disappointed, I appreciate we're in challenging times but scrimping on portions will do nothing for their reputation

Busker Brownes 4.0 star review: Had missed lunch and was searching for some place in Galway during the hungry hours from 2.30 to 5.
I came on this restaurant at Kirwins Lane- actually the side entrance to Busker Brownes. Steak was off so I ordered Seafood Chowder and a salad of Blue Cheese, walnuts, pears and bacon. from the specials menu.
The chowder was OK but I prefer chunkier fish pieces. these were a bit too fine.
However, the salad was really very good indeed. A layer of leaves with sundried tomatoes, sliced red onion rings, topped with pieces of cheese, walnuts, pears and bacon This was dressed really nicely and all was topped by melted blue cheese. A very good dish. service was very prompt and the waitress was pleasant. Bill was less than €15. Good value and very filling.

Busker Brownes 3.0 star review: This place was almost empty at 6 o'clock on a cold, windy Thursday evening. We were attracted by the 'Specials' Menu shown to us by a very friendly waitress. We ordered pan fried hake with bacon polenta and lemon cream sauce and lamb shank with scallion mash.
The fish dish when it arrived was barely lukewarm. The lamb shank was piping hot.The fish had clearly been left standing while the other dish was being prepared. While the food was delicious it was very disappointing that it was cold. Reheating the fish would have ruined it.
The waitress asked if I would like anything else but I was too hungry to wait for another dish.
The lamb shank was also delicious but very small and came with a very tiny portion of mash.
We asked the waitress if she could bring some more as what was given was not sufficient.
I realised from her reaction that it would be counted and billed as a side order. When I asked if it could be provided to bring the portion size to a proper level she informed us that the chef never gives out extra potato without charging for it.
We pointed out that we were unimpressed with this scenario. She returned to say only that the chef had taken our comments on board.
After another few minutes she appeared with a portion of mash. I can only suppose that the chef in question had had second thoughts.
I would have to say that no matter how nice the food a practice of scrimping on the portion sizes will do a restaurant no great favours.

Busker Brownes 3.0 star review: I was quite unimpressed with my lunch recently, and usually Buskers is great for food. I had the deep-fried brie salad and my friend had the goat’s cheese salad. Both arrived out without much salad - mine only had a small bit of lettuce, 2 tomato slices, seeds, and dressing. That was not a salad, just deep-fried brie with a salad garnish. And even worse, with the centre of the cheese still cold and hard. Very disappointing.

Busker Brownes 4.0 star review: Dined here with a friend for lunch. I had the warm goats cheese salad which was delicious and fresh while my friend had the chicken wrap. Was nice place and a good choice considering neither of us are from the area and were unsure where was good to eat. Would return

Busker Brownes 5.0 star review: Came to Buskers for a quick lunch with a friend who was under time pressure. We were served promptly, the food was excellent (we both had burgers) and our waitress was very nice. Pub food at it's best!

Busker Brownes 2.0 star review: Myself and a friend met here for lunch mid week and I was extremely disapointed with my meal. I hadnt eaten in Buscars in quite some time and will not be returing in the near future either. The staff were quite friendly however the food was awful. I ordered a duck wrap which sounded lovely as described on the menu, however it did not taste right. The side salad that accompanied it was lovely but the wrap was very disappointing and left a strange aftertaste in my mouth.
Furthermore, the pub was busy upon entering we checked the smaller area under the stairs but the smell was awful, we contemplated sitting there but the smell was so bad we had to move out to the main bar. I felt that that this was unacceptable considering it is a area where food is served. Overall I had an unpleasant dinning experience and will not be recommending or returning to Buscars now or in the near future.
