This Restaurant is by far the best restaurant in Salthill/Galway for families, Just beside the church in the main area of Salthill village. They offer really great deals and value all the time and are always really busy but don't worry the que moves quickly and the service is very speedy and efficient.
Since they re-decorated recently it has really turned around.
Well done to all there and thank-you for the years of great service and good feeding!

I had occasion to visit this restaurant twice in the space of 2 weeks in July. It had been recommended to me as somewhere that catered to everyone. I have to say, I was not disappointed. On both occasions we were greeted by friendly staff who had us seated within minutes, even at the height of lunchtime on a miserable Saturday afternoon. The food was exactly as expected for the prices being charged, portions sizes were excellent, and the menu had a variety to suit all tastes. The competent and smiling staff were an especially nice touch for such a busy restaurant. I would recommend to all and will definately visit again.

this is one of the best restaurants i have ever been in. the staff and the food were first class. the place was spotless. the selection on the menu were fantastic.it was so good i returned there 3 times during my stay in salthill

I visited the Galleon restaurant whilst in Galway recently, it was a Saturday eve and when I saw there was a que of people waiting I was tempted to give it a miss, as I had young children with me, but I was greeted by a Lovely young lady who assured me the wait would not be long, so within a few minutes we were seated, highchair for the baby & crayon's for the bigger children. we were served by yet another lovely girl who could not do enough for us, we find eating out with young children to be very stressful on many ocassions but we had such a good experience in the Galleon. the place was very busy and a hive of activity, there was something on the manu to suit us all, I will certainly go back there on my next visit to Galway.

I had the ckicken curry here which was a bit rich and contained only chicken, no peppers or onions or anything like that. The sauce was thick and dried into the plate. For €12.50, I wish id gone for a fast food option. Really not worth it. The restaurant was freezing cold also and I couldnt take my jacket off during my meal as I was so cold. Staff were friendly but although there was more staff than customers, it was difficult to get their attention, they ran around in circles for the time I was there but didnt get a whole lot done at the same time. I wouldnt recommend this restaurant to anyone.

On a recent visit to Galway, made a welcome return to the Galleon. Any time I visit Galway I return to this gem in Salthill. We both had the garlic bread starter which is delicious. I had the chargrilled steak and my friend had the mixed grill. Both meals were superb. The staff are lovely and the restaurant is spotless. Already looking forward to a return trip.

Went here with my wife and two toddlers service was great very attentive and place very very clean,food however was not great for the price e.g kids meal greasy chips and 2 sausages at just under €7 is taking the michael!!
at €13 for adult main for under cooked ham and mash is also poor form either drop the prices or raise the bar on the food!!
Food really was quite poor quality for the price wont be back!

We dined for lunch this weekend. The place is child friendly and staff pleasant.
Food was adequate with one of the main courses being disappointing ( The Topdecker) bap needs to be fresher. The Soup and sambo was good less cream in the soup would be better. Chips are homemade which are nice.
Was ok value.
