This is a pub trying to be a restaurant in the evening. We were there at end of August with our 4 year old. The pub was cold and there was about six other customers in it. Now I know why. It's basically frozen food heated up and not even done properly. The pizza was like something bought in Aldi. The chips were cooked from frozen and were still frozen in the moddle. It's not as if the chef was run off his feet. If you're going to charge 3.95 for chips then cook real ones! The portions were small and the prices high. We could have gone to a really nice restaurant in Galway for the same price. In fact, we did the following night. Avoid!

This has to be one of the most beautiful venues in the country. The Co-op is an ancient building that has recently been restored. When you enter the building the space opens up to reveal a huge vaulted timber ceiling. The bar is furnished with plush leather couches and funky handmade tables and chairs. I was there on a Sunday afternoon for the weekly bluegrass sessions. The music was great. We had the seabass (15 euro) and the burger with Cashel blue cheese (13 euro). The food was really good, the fish was really fresh, the burger was amazing, the buns are homemade and the burgers are huge, made from top quality meat. For desert we had the tiramisu and apple pie, again both of these were homemade and really tasty. The Co-op is an ideal place for lunch or dinner when visiting Connemara and is only 10 minutes from town. Highly recommended.

Both myself and my friend had the Co-Op burger. It is difficult to get a burger and chips wrong but they managed. The chips were the stodgy frozen variety, we both found the burger to be bland and the salt provided was rock salt without a grinder. Given the price It was a disappointing meal.
