Kai cafe and restaurant 4.0 star review: This place is always busy due to simple fact that they do everything well. Need to book in advance for any night of the week but you will not be disappointed. Even basic things like jugs of table water are flavoured !

Kai cafe and restaurant 5.0 star review: Have had lunch here a few times, always great! Being vegetarian its not always easy yo find a good place to eat in town and the kai has become my favorite. The menu changes every day as they cook with whats seasonal and available. The staff are lovely and the atmosphere is really relaxed.
As well as their savory options they always have a range of delicious desserts and sweet snacks.
All round just a fantastic place.

Kai cafe and restaurant 5.0 star review: Ate here last night for the first time and highly recommend it. I had a goat’s curd starter and a wild halibut main with lentils, and both were fab. Everyone with me enjoyed their meals, with 1 person saying the chicken liver pate, which came as part of a charcuterie starter plate, was the best he’d ever tasted. It. The crushed potatoes they serve with some of the meals are also to die for. The menu is small – 5 options for each course, as well as cheese options.
I also loved the décor and atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

Kai cafe and restaurant 4.5 star review: A party of 14 of us dined here on a Saturday night. The setting was lovely, we had our own section upstairs which was great and the waitress gave us an Ipod to choose the songs for the evening. An excellent touch! Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, especially when it came to deciphering the menu. We were a group who are accustomed to dinning out but we all felt that the menu wording was abit much. The food was good but I felt some of the dishes needed a bit of umph. I had crab to start which was nice but I would not order it again. However I tasted the meat starter and it was delicious. For mains I had a fillet of fish and it was really good, I would definitely order it again. My boyfriend had the monkfish and both himself and I felt it was lacking something. The wine list was good and overall it was a great evening. A credit to the staff, they really are accommodating and with the right choices of dishes you could not fault the place.

Kai cafe and restaurant 5.0 star review: My boyfriend and I came here on a Thursday for our anniversary dinner, we're not from Galway so we booked a good bit ahead & asked could options be available for me as I am a vegetarian (no fish) who does not eat dairy, which they assured would not be a problem. The place was near full but the lovely staff took it in their ease & made sure everyone was looked after.

For starters they created an almost work of art farm plate for myself & soft goats curd with crostini for my boyfriend. Both were absolutely delicious. For mains I was given a beautiful spelt farro with asparagus with a side of quinoa, pea & purple broccoli mimosa. My boyfriend had lamb with carrot chutney & mash on the side which he loved. Both were presented beautifully & tasted amazing! Deserts sounded beautiful but we had no room left! We had 2 glasses of prosecco to start & 1 glass of red & 1 of white with mains. We took pictures of each course as they almost looked too good to eat!!

The bill came to around €80. Although not cheap, the food, atmosphere, staff, chefs, attention to detail & accommodation to special requests were incredible! I am often left very disappointed with the food I am presented in restaurants, however here is an example of how all amazing it can be. So glad we found this gem & can't wait to return in the future!
