Gemelles 4.0 star review: I went here for my sister's Hen Party. I'm not that familiar with Galway but this place was the best thing about the entire weekend. The place itself is a little cramped and seems to be a popular haunt for Hen Parties (though of the more civilised kind). I found the mismatched chairs quirky and charming. The food far exceeded my expectation as it was both delicious and well presented. The bill was not harsh on the purse strings either. I only regret that this little gem is in Galway, and not in Dublin.

Gemelles 4.0 star review: Have eaten here before a few times and always found the food and service excellent. However, on this occasion the food wasn't as great as usual. We ordered mussels for starters which were tiny when they arrived out from the kitchen, looked like they had too much heat. No side plates were given for the bread which was annoying and no finger bowls after the mussels.
The mains were much better, my partner ordered the steak which was cooked perfectly ( medium- rare) and I ordered the duck which was slightly over cooked but it came with lovely stuffing and vegtables. The dessert menu didn't leave much to the imagination so we both skipped it.

Gemelles 5.0 star review: Had a great experience here, the service is one of the friendliest and relaxed I have come across. We shared the crostini with cheese and pesto to start - this was just ok, nothing special to be honest. For mains, I had the seafood with linguini and really enjoyed it, perfect portion and lovely big juicy prawns and plenty of mussels. We had 3 glasses of wine each and a coffee and bill came to €63 which we were happy with for peak sat night dining. Will definitely go back when next in Galway!

Gemelles 5.0 star review: My wife and I visited Gemelles last night without booking in advance. We were brought upstairs and attended to by a very helpful waitress. We both had the goats cheese parcels as starters. A perfect choice. I went for the Fillet steak with home fries, beautifully cooked and well presented. She went for Carbonara Fetuccine Verde. This was washed down with Ljalba, Rioja Reserva. Dessert was the uniquely presented Cheese Cake with icecream. We finished with 2 coffees. A very enjoyable meal at a good price.

Gemelles 5.0 star review: My girlfriend and I were in Galway on Tuesday night for her HDip Graduation and visited Gemelles for a pre-ceremony meal. Lovely interior, intimate feel with the low ceilings and little nooks. The 2 courses for €20 from the A la Carte is excellent value with a good choice on offer. For starter I had the duck liver pate which was very tasty and presented beautifully. My only quibble of the whole evening (only a minor one) was that my girlfriend asked for the crostini to start without the cheese, we were informed that this was not possible because they were already made up, in my opinion a request that should be easily met by a restaturant of Gemelles' quality). Instead she had the soup which wa nice, a massive portion! Both mains were outstanding- mine was gunea fowl cooked perfectly as it was very moist and tasty, accompanying sauce was excellent. She had the lamb shank which fell from the bone as a good lamb shank should do, the dish was gorgeous and even though I was extremely happy with my guinea fowl I was slightly envious looking at that lamb! 1 dessert (really good shortbread with mascarpone and strawberries), 1 espresso and a bottle of house red the bill came to €61. Excellent value for money as the quality of the food and cooking shone through. Excellent service (apart from my minor quibble), friendly and attentive.

Gemelles 4.0 star review: We were there for a meal on Monday night.
Service was good. No long waits between courses. All happy with starters. Three of us went for fillet steak and all were cooked as ordered! The other two went for Fish and Fajihitas and were very happy with their meal. We had two deserts and ended up having four bottles of wine. Overall bill was 180 euros which I felt was very reasonable for a meal for five with wine..
We will definitely return.

Gemelles 5.0 star review: Wonderful yet again!!! Can heartily recommend this restaurant and especially their 2 courses for €20 offer at the moment...you can have rib eye steak...prawns..duck...these are €20 on their own!!!
Would recommend the rib eye...so soft you barely need a knife to cut it :)
Helpful and friendly staff and other than whingey woman customer who complained that her food got cold too quickly- stop talking and eat so!!! we had a fab night :)
Didn't even go near desserts mind u have tasted their triple choc mousse is to die for!!!

Gemelles 5.0 star review: Had dinner her last monday night - there was good few people in the place so made the atmosphere pleasent for a monday night.
We went for the 2 for 2 menu - I had crostini which was tasty but my partner had duck liver which was outstanding. For mains I went for duck which I have to say was lovely and crispy and stuffing was fab. It came with baby potatoes and veg which I thought i would have to order seperatly but came with dish. My partner had fajita - which where also so tasty as spices on meat where perfect. We shared a dessert but i was so full that could hardly eat it. House bottle of wine was €15 and it was nice.
Had really nice evening and will go again on next trip to Galway.
