I was recommended this restaurant as somewhere good within walking distance of the nearby twelve hotel we were staying at. I checked their website before going and they claimed to be one of the finest seafood restaurants in Ireland so my hopes were high. It's pretty pokey and quaint and you feel like you're entering a fisherman's cottage. The winelist is ok, quite safe and I found myself searching through the food menu for the seafood I had heard so much about. It's strange that most of the seafood lives on the starters menu, in fact all of it on the a la carte menu as the only seafood option on the main courses was a bigger portion of the same mussels on the starter menu. I thought that there must be lots of specials available based on what was caught that day but it must have been a slow day on the high seas because there were just 2 specials which were not special enough for me to recall what they involved. This place is very pricey for what it is and I wouldn't go back based on the sheer number of similar yet better and cheaper seafood joints in the area.

We ate here on a Sunday evening. We'd popped in for lunch the day before and it was so good that we booked a table for the following night. This place is so pretty and we sat upstairs looking out over an angry sea, all warm and snug inside. There is plenty of choice on the menu for both fish and non-fish eaters. We were served some delicious bread by our lovely waitress. To start I had the deep fried brie and my parter had some kind of crab dish. Both excellent! For mains I had the duo of brill and sea-bass and himself had the king scallops on shrimp risotto. Both cooked to perfection and delicious. We shared a dessert of a cold raspberry souffle with our coffees. Again it was perfect. This place is quite pricey but the location, service and food all make it worthwhile. I would highly recommend it.
