Conveniently located within 100 yards of the Stillorgan Luas stop, our purpose built restaurant seats approximately 90 people in relaxed and informal surroundings.
While we1ve refined the menu somewhat our regular customers will be glad to hear that the food is just as good, if not better than ever. As the well known food & restaurant critic Tom Doorley wrote in a recent review, the China Sichuan 'is a lot closer to the repertoire of the original restaurant ..and has the same zingy food and impeccable service'. And as the same critic puts it 'there's something about the food at the China Sichuan that demands experimentation'. So we invite you to come along and try for yourself.

We hadn't eaten here for 12 months and in all areas standards have dropped. The female server was surly, the fried rice simply wasn't, the aromatic duck was dry and tasteless. The crispy duck was nice but perhaps a bit sweet. Starters were ok but 2 starters , 2 mains and a bottle of Pellegrino was bad value at euro 65.35

Ate here with a small group of work colleagues - 6.30pm sitting. The food was nice - but each of my companions found their dishes much hotter/spicier than they'd been expecting. I don't remember this happening before in this restaurant - so perhaps a new Chef? My own dish - a lovely pork stir fry - was just perfect. Personally I'd like a few prawn crackers - but another review I read seemed to think that not producing them was a point in the restaurant's favour. Takes all sorts I guess. We had a very nice bottle of red house wine - a Merlot - and then two rounds of coffee. Including a generous tip the bill was about €35 each - perhaps a bit dear for what we had. I like this restaurant - but my previous meal there (with the same group) was probably more impressive and better value.

Enjoyed a business lunch in this hidden gem earlier today with some of my work colleagues. The experience was delightful and we will be back.

Came back after being once before, my Dad had been thrice before. Unfortunatly this time we were VERY DISAPPOINTED. The food was terrible. I ordered the Pan-Fried Waltip Dumplings (meat variety) and they were not very crispy and the garnish was not fresh. My Dad’s Crispy Spring Rolls weren’t crispy either, and quite cold too. Our mains were even worse. I ordered the Chengdu Home Style Beef, as I had it before and it was really delicious. This time however, it was not lean and the meat wasn’t plentiful in comparison to the sauce and veg. I tried some of my Dad’s dish, the Deep-Fried Crispy Chicken. The waitress advised that it is a crispy chicken fillet cut in slices with a sweet and sour-like sauce. This was very much the opposite. The chicken was grizzly and rather bony, and not crispy. 80% of the chicken was inedible. The accompanying sauce tasted like an extra salty soy sauce. We did complain, and the manager and waitress were very apologetic and removed my Dad’s chicken dish off the bill. It was a very sad and disappointing experience as the previous time we had a really great meal and the food was great. New chef, new (bad) quality. Restaurant layout is nice, staff is friendly and the menu is very varied.

We were lent a baby seat as pushchairs are not accepted. Good service. Food overpriced. One dish was nice and he others below average. I was sick during the night and the next day.

This is my favourite restaurant hands-down. The service is very quick and attentive, the food is absolutely amazing. We end up paying more than we normally would for a dinner for 2, but for a special occasion it's always my first chouce.

Went there two times in the past few weeks with friends. All of us were very pleased with all the dishes. I had the Crispy Prawns wrapped in "Shredded Ketafi Pastry, with Chilli Plum Sauce" and "Chilli Crispy Beef shreds, pan fried in a sweet chilli plum sauce" which was both great. The Service was very friendly and the dishes were served in a very timely manner. Atmosphere is very nice and clean. Altogether a very recommendable location.

I really love this place and make the trouble of the trip to get there from the city centre as its really worth it. Delicious food, great service and very good value. In my view this is not a "Chinese restaurant" as that gives the impression it is like many places in Dublin that do Chinese food; in my view this is a fine restaurant that does Sichuan food, and does it really well. Great cocktails and a long wine list just add to the fact.

YUM! Chinese food doesn't get much better than this. This is a family favourite for us. Staff are so professional and attentive. Food is top quality and its a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Although its based in Sandyford industrial estate there is lots of parking and the green luas line runs right by.
