Kanum is an Irish family owned and operated establishment. There is a real family feel to Kanum with 5 cousins working front of house, husband and wife Thai chefs and also a husband and wife pairing in the prep kitchen. The idea to open Kanum came from the families collective love of Thai food and the lack of authentic Thai eateries in Dublin. Kanum is a ‘Thai Diner’ the first of its kind in Dublin, where customers can enjoy quality Thai food in a relaxed casual atmosphere.
We at Kanum Promise to provide our customers with meats traceable directly back to the farm in Ireland, herbs spices and vegetables delivered daily and to provide the best quality authentic Thai food that is virtually fat free and contains ZERO MSGS.

Had a chicken dish there. Was chicken in cashew nuts (can't remember the name). Such a tasty little job. Only complaint was the poxy radio.

1.5 Kanum Thai 1.5 star review:
Had lunch in the Mespil road takeaway outlet last friday. No complaints about service or value. However, the Meal (Pad Prik) I got was so salty it was verging on inedible. In addtion the Chicken in the dish, had the appearance of being pre-bolied and just trown it to the wok.
Ate about a third then left due to being overpowered by the saltiness of the sauce, and felt ill for the afternoon.
Will not be returning ever and it is a shame to see a good place go so bad.

I've been Thai Passionate for years and since they open nearly two years ago I've been going regularly. The place is always clean and tidy, you don't have to wait more than ten minutes to get your food and they deliver. I normally get Red Curry with Prawns cause I' like a bit of spice on my meals, The food is full of flavours and the portions are more than for one. They also got good deals for one or two people and the have daily specials, A must try :)

Great food! Tasty, full of ingredients. What is very important for me - very clean with a nice service. Could be slightly cheaper though..

2.5 Kanum Thai 2.5 star review:
Got a delivery from here today. Very disappointing. Same prices as other Thai restaurants but seriously lacking in quality.
I only ordered two things and they forgot to deliver one. I'm not sure i'll even get a refund for what didn't arrive. I ordered the Duck Massaman. It was one blob in a container. The duck was extremely fatty and the rice was stodgy. Most of it went in the bin.
Needless to say I won't be back..

I must be one of the few who don’t think that Kanum is the be-all-and-end-all of Thai in Dublin. I’m a Thai nut and have tried many of the dishes here, but feel that they are often lacking and are missing that something that can make Thai special. The curries are often thin and scant on ingredients, the ‘finger-food’ starters/snacks are normally deep-fried and generic-tasting. Service is always friendly and the outlet is spotless, but the food is the thing and I’m afraid that there are better Thais out there.

I have got takeaway from here three times in the last few weeks and its probably the best takeaway i'v ever eaten!! It is far better then any other Thai /Chinse in the area, and i would of tried and tested a lot of them.
I work as a chef and can tell that there is love and passion gone into the food aswell as really lovely flavors and spice. I loved both the red and massaman curry and the duck served is lovely and tender. The people i have spoke too on all occasions are helpfull chirpy and polite. The food came quickly. granted it was not at a very busy time but still liked that it was quick and fresh. I don't think i will bother with any of the other takeaways as i truly believe iv found the best!

Been here a few times now, a little more expensive that usual chinese or thai takeaways, but great value for money. Good food and worth it. Not exactly the best restaurant atmosphere and just collect the meal yourself with plastic plates and cutlery, but love the white takeaway boxes so would definately opt for takeaway and have it at home. They do good lunch deals aswell. Love the chow mein or the currys. Will definately be getting it again.

Gorgeous Thai takeaway. Can eat in too but its limited seating and wouldn't be the most atmospheric place but perfect if you are just grabbing lunch or something quick and need a seat! They do sell wine and what not so handy for a one stop shop dinner. The food is amazing, BIG fan. Have been many many times and will be again. Thai Curries, Pad Thai and Stir fry are yummy!
