Bijou Bistro 3.5 star review: I came here for lunch with my aunt. I had the chowder which was delicious (although another slice of brown bread wouldn't have gone amiss). She had the goats cheese tartlet which was fine but on the small side and definitely not worth the price of almost €9. Desserts were unexciting. I have had better cheaper meals elsewhere.

Bijou Bistro 4.0 star review: Came to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday with my family. We were offered a nice table in the right wing of the restaurant. Menus very varied, and great choice for Monday night. I chose from the Early Bird Menu (which is either 2- for €20 or 3-courses for €25). I opted for the Goats Cheese Tartlet as a starter, followed with the Chicken Breast main course and also ordered a Bijou Sparkler cocktail. The boys all ordered from the Meat & Liquour Menu, opting to share one Spicy Chicken Wings starter and my Dad ordered the Goats Cheese Tartlet too, and for mains they ordered Grilled Lamb Steak, 10oz Sirloin and 6oz Fillet Steak respectively, and beers for all. Our drinks came in good time after and we didn’t wait too long before the starters arrived. The Goats Cheese Tartlet was really tasty. It was light and flavorsome, the tomatoes within the tartlet were well marinated and the rocket salad with dressing was a good accompaniment. The Chicken Wings were very tasty, spicy and the blue cheese dip was perfect. My main was very well presented; a generous portion-size for one. Two crispy skinned chicken breasts atop creamy mash potato, served with braised salad, wild fried garlic and watercress, and my side order of skinny fries. The chicken was tender and still moist, had a nice flavour of the garlic, the vegetables were well cooked and the fries were delicious. Overall it was a very tasty dinner with which I was very satisfied. The boys’ mains were all very good-looking, and also generous in size. My Dad’s 6oz Fillet Steak did have to be sent back to the chef as it was underdone to his liking; he asked for medium but was given rare. The waitress apologized and he was sent back a more medium (though still not perfectly medium) steak, with fresh sides (though less side salad). €100 for four 2-course meals, beers, cocktails and sides, Bijou Bistro was worth it. Definitely coming back soon! Comfortable, polite staff and clean bathrooms.

Bijou Bistro 3.5 star review: A good friend took me here on a recent saturday, and left us with mixed impressions. My friend had tried to book online but got no acknowledgement, then she booked on the phone, and when we got there there were 2 bookings for us. In any case we did not get the hoped-for upstairs table, which we prefere as those tables have tablecloths. We had a small round table, which is not really suitable for eating a dinner. The food was up to its usual good standard, but the service was patcy and our repeated requests to turn down the music was repeatedly acknowledged but ignored. As a result, we did not leave any tip.

Bijou Bistro 4.0 star review: This is a local venue for me and we visit it at reasonably regular intervals. We generally go to bijou when the in laws visit Dublin as this is a very reliable place to visit. The first think you notice is the great service and warm welcome. The staff are always on the ball here. Our preference is to eat downstairs as there is more action down here. The food is always very good and they cater well for children too. I am a big fan of the deserts at Bijou and normally by pass the starters and go for the main and a dessert. I would highly recommend Bijou as a safe bet for a family meal or a special occasion.

Bijou Bistro 4.5 star review: Another excellent night out at Bijou - a party of four, as one of us was celebrating a rather special birthday. Lovely touch to be welcomed back by name, with a remark that it is some time since we were last here. Food was excellent, and the service as good as ever. Can't remember what everybody ate, but my blade of beef was superb - presumably a long slow cooking time. A big lump of meat (rather like a filllet steak) but so dark and soft that I cut it with the side of my fork. Never been disappointed at Bijou, and this night was no exception. Great night out.

Bijou Bistro 4.0 star review: Nice restraunt but quite overpriced so dont go to often because of this.Service can be an issue as there is a language barrier so when you order red wine you might get red wine gravy, even though you have your nearly empty wine glass and pointing at it for a top up!. Veg forgotton with the meal too so defo could spruce up the service end and value but really tasty food. Meal for two with wine is about 110e.

Bijou Bistro 5.0 star review: The restaurant was buzzing when we arrived on a Friday evening. We were met by a very pleasant waitress and escorted to our table which was fairly close to the kitchen. We shared a mushroom quiche starter. It was small but so delicious I wished that we had ordered one each. Duck with plum sauce was delicious as was the lamb. Both were served with a fabulous selection of vegetables. A beautiful meal! I will definitely return.

Bijou Bistro 4.5 star review: When I heard we were all meeting up in Bijou this weekend I was very disappointed as I was here, with a few of us from work about 2 months ago and I left hungry I could not finish my meal it was cold and my meat was dry. But Friday night it was a whole different experience I ate one of the nicest thing I have ever put in my mouth, it was the veal sctoch egg every mouthful was a delight the flavors all worked togeter and it looked really cute on the plate, after eating my starter i could not wait to have my main course, but I was thinking no way could it get better than what i just had, but it matched every thing the flavors again work so well and the portions are big this time (GREAT) i felt like screaming with joy with every mouthful i had,it was the poussin pie, the garlic mash and the succulent of the poussin breast work really well. This is some serious cooking and I can see why its so busy. We were a big group and not one of us said any negatives, brilliant night, and thank you to all the staff at bijou

Bijou Bistro 4.5 star review: i ate here a couple of days ago and have not been able to stop thinking about it since. im a vegetarian and find it very hard to find somewhere that both i and my boyfriend, who only eats steak when we are out, can both enjoy. i find you can always tell a great chef from the rest with their risotto and a great chef cooked mine. it was prefect and my boyfriend thought the same of his rib eye. we will definitely be coming back for more!

Bijou Bistro 4.5 star review: I have eating in Bijou many times as I live in the area and it has always being hit and miss, one time it would be ok and then awful, but I have being in Bijou twice in the last ten days and I have to say the food has transformed to another level. On my first visit in the last ten days I was blowing away with the food. I had scallops to start the flavors were very good, then for my main I had the cod again it was so tasty, my wife had the rissito and truffle chips witch I ate most of and had to order more, it was not so long ago I had being here and I could not even finish my meal as it was so bad. So my latest visited was on Friday we were a party of six and we all met in the local bar first and I was telling them all about my previous visit and I was also saying every time I have a good meal here, I then have a bad experience, but this was not the case and to be honest the food was better, I had the crab then the duck I could not fault a thing the service was quick and good but I did miss the truffle chips this time????? Friday was very busy and the food was still very very good, there is allot to be said for that!!! 12 out of 10 for the food. Keep up the good work Bijou
