We had an early dinner tonight in Morilles and it was a really gorgeous and a real value for money meal. The place was quiet, but warm and inviting and Sammy Davis sang Bojangles (a background track) that included Dionne Warwick - some really great classics made us feel at home. I had the 2 courses for €19.95 offer and had the most stunning seafood chowder ever. It was probably full to the brim of cream, but rich and creamy and full of fresh perfectly cooked fish. The other thing was even though it arrived in one of those nice shallow bowls, it was piping hot. I just hate luke warm food, but not at Morilles. My main course was a chicken dish with mash and veg. Simple, well cooked and lovely sauce. My partner had black pudding in filo pastry with red onion accompaniment. It was delicate and light and really fresh (his words not mine!) - his main was a beef and guinness pie with a side with fresh creamed mash potatoes. I was a little embarassed when he asked our waiter if he would have to ''hunt'' in the dish for the beef. He reassured and he wasn't wrong. It was a big hit. Two lovely chilled glasses of Pinot Grigio accompanied our meal. We paid just €4 for the wine. I have certainly paid €5-€6 in other places and felt it ws too much. Total price was just €48 and it was the best value for money we've had in quite a while. The restaurant was quiet but it was a Tuesday night in January and for my money, this place deserves to be rocking and I have absolutely no doubts. Whatever about the early reviews on this page about Morilles, please drop in and give Morilles a try. You will not be disappointed.

Had a really nice evening which was enjoyed by all four of us.We all liked the decor which was warm and tastful. The service was first class and attentive. The vegetable soup was a bit bland, but the pork belly was wonderful and the desserts were very good. In the present economic climate this meal was very good value and we will return.

Morilles have got their act together. Dismiss reviews over 2 months old as Morilles has revised its prices and approach. Their early bird menu got us into the restaurant - which I might add was excellent. Portion sizes and choices were the same as those taken from the a la carte, but the nice surprise was that the a la carte is now affordable. We didn't return after our first visit 9 months ago as the prices were off the wall despite the food being top class. BUT now - you're getting excellent food as a reasonable price with service and decor to match. Plus we loved the music choice. I'd love to see this restaurant succeed as its nice to have a quality restaurant in Rathfarnham. I hope they get the support they deserve and are acknowledge for admitting they got it wrong the first time out when the recession wasn't even on the horizon. I look forward to my next visit - I've already made 2 bookings over the coming weeks.

Scrumptious! We had heard great comments regarding this restaurant since it opened and we arrived back from our holidays and tried the early bird. We were not dissapointed. We were greeted by warm and friendly staff, who were especially nice to our children (7yrs and 10yrs). I had the Salt & Pepper squid-delicious. He had the grilled mushroom, poached egg and herb butter- which I had to taste to my delight. For mains I had the Crispy duckling and he had the fish of the day which was baked haddock- both were absolutely gorgeous! The children had penne pasta with a homemade tomatoe suace. Which they loved and so did we! Then the deserts, the waiter kindly organised jelly and ice cream for the children which they loved. I would recommend the chocolate brownie! We also treated ourselves to a beautiful bottle of wine and the total bill came to €82 minus the tipp for 2 adults and 2 children. We had a wonderful evening money well spent. We will definitely be making more regular visits to this restaurant! P.S. you will love the music!

What a wonderful restaurant!! We have often eaten in the bar and the restaurant and loved it. I must point out that the menu on this site is not the same as in the restaurant. We were there last firday night and she had the blue cheese and pear salad which was delicious not too filling as a starter and I had the rare beef salad-cooked to perfection! For mains she had the Lemon and thyme chicken and I had the 16oz T bone which is a welcome return to any menu. Also they have an early bird option two course's for €18-you can't beat that in value in the current climate. We have eaten there since it was refurbished and have loved it every time. It's good to see that the menu is changed regularly especially when fresh food is in season. The staff are always friendly and curtious and the restaurant has a lovely ambience about it. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!
