4.5 Locks Brasserie 4.5 star review:
Was impressed to see Locke's offered a great value Seasonal 2 Course menu at 25 EUR. In addition to this there was a lovely ambience in the restaurant-so we were really looking forward to the food.
I had the Jerusalem Artichoke Veloute to start with and all I can say is it was absolutely delisious! As for my main course, I am still dreamimg about the pork belly and the fantastic smokey and apple flavours that were served alongside the wonderfully tender piece of pork. We finished off a flawless meal with the deconstructed rhubarb crumble - to die for!!
Definitely worth a mid-week treat at such good value. I can see why Locke's won their Michelin star based on the exquisite food we ate.
Already looking foward to my next visit!

OUTSTANDING! Delicious. Welcoming .The food was superb. How could a Basil tart for desert possible be a viable option. Not only that, it was amazing.

4.5 Locks Brasserie 4.5 star review:
I booked a Birthday Dinner in Lock's for two on Sat last. Like many of the posters on this website, I had passed the restaurant many times and finally decided to make a booking.
The room is relaxed and pretty, plenty of timber panelling offering an almost New England feel to the place. We started with two glasses of Champaign (€29.50 is expensive) and a carafe of Malbec.
The order was Celeriac Veloute, beautifully textured, slight lack of seasoning for my taste and an earthy kernel of dark truffle in the centre of the bowl. Overall a lovely dish. This was followed by wet cured Atlantic Salmon; very generous portion of salmon with a fresh and zingy caper cream & assorted accompaniments.
The main course consisted of Pheasant, which was rolled and served with cranberries and sprouts. This dish was a little dry but not overly so, also the chestnut sauce was very sparse, and as the dish was a little dry it needed some more sauce.
The Atlantic Cod was cooked very well. The artichoke cream was plentiful and a perfect accompaniment. The crab ravioli was very small and a smidgeon overcooked. The brown shrimp dressing tied the plate together with the texture of the shrimp and the saltiness of the dressing.
Service was smart, attentive and what you would expect. The evening was perfectly dissected by the timely intervention of service to our table. Overall Locks'
is a great place to eat and I will be back.

4.5 Locks Brasserie 4.5 star review:
I dined here on Sunday last, and was really looking forward to the experience. I love the setting of this restaurant and the dining room has such a great ambience. The restaurant was busy and the service was reasonable from the start. We asked the manager for a wine recommendation and he got it exactly right. It was clear that he was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about wine and got the mix of matching our tastes, our budget and our food just right. The food was fantastic. We had the snails and foie gras to start. I would recommend both. Mains were pheasant and scallops, again fantastic. The only complaint that I have relates to the service. The waiting staff don't share the same enthusiasm for food as the kitchen does. None of out meals were explained to us, as I would expect in a Michelin star restaurant... and then when we ordered cheese, instead of telling us what they were we were told that they were "sheep", "goat" and "milk cow". That is a small complaint though. I recommend dining here and will go back. The value is good, and hopefully next time we'll ask for a better description of the cheese!!

We celebrated my wife submitting her PhD at Locks, taking advantage of their Value 2 Course Menu. I had the slow poached salmon, which was excellent, and my wife had the Celeriac Veloute with truffle. For mains we had the Slow Braised Pork and Cannelloni. At this stage my brother had joined us, and he was seated without any fuss whatsoever. He had the Tempura of Sole which he said was delicious, the batter in particular. We all had deserts, not included in the value menu, as well as coffees and wine. Our meal was excellent, and the value for what is clearly a fine-dining experience, but in a laid-back setting. Service too was relaxed and friendly.

4.5 Locks Brasserie 4.5 star review:
Absolutely fantastic meal! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary dinner at locks last night, having made a last minute booking after passing it on the canal for years and saying we must visit. First, the room is beautiful - soft cream wood panelling lending a country feel to what is quite a crowded room. The service is exceptional - friendly, helpful and genuinely interested. Wine recommendations were helpful and not pushed at high prices. Our only quibble was a flatter than expected prosecco which was promptly changed with apologies. From that point on our meal was faultless. My husband had the oysters - such an innovative take on what we normally love served with just a wedge of lemon. The Vietnamese dressing enhanced and didn't overpower the oyster. I relished my marinated beetroot, which just exploded with flavour. The duck main was similarly inspired, as was my turbot and both were accompanied by delicious new baby potatoes, liberally garnished wi garlic and salt and which we would have eaten all night. Finally dessert - he had lemon eton mess which would normally be my first choice and it was truly delicious. However, I had read about the banana parfait and all I would say is if you eat in locks you MUST have this dish. The peanut butter icecream was amazing and the banana caviar unlike anything I'd ever eaten before. I can truly say this was one of the best meals I have ever had in Ireland. Fabulous!

Very nice atmosphere. No problem to go there with your child. Food was ok. A bit pricy for what you get.

The setting here is beautiful, and there is a great atmosphere in the place. Service was excellent as well. Food was very good, but a little on the pricey side considering the value that can be gotten in Dublin at the moment.

4.0 Locks Brasserie 4.0 star review:
Our first visit to Locks was a great way to start off the weekend. The restaurant has a buzzy atmosphere and its decor makes you dream of hitting the waterways and heading to France. Appertifs and digestifs to bookend your meal are noted on a blackboard. In between we had chicken and foie gras terrine and snails risotto to start. Both were beautifully presented with the emphasis on flavours not fuss. For mains we stuck with ribeye steak and were not disappointed. Straight forward and delicious. The winner of the night was the lemon eton mess, so many flavours zinging together. The sorbet was presented on a bed of crushed ice. Coffees were very good, the wine and water flowed. Service was attentive but not intrusive and all the diners were lingering over dinner enjoying the experience and the food.
