Place was very busy the lunchtime i went here, so service was a bit slower than usual (verified by my friend that was with me that comes here all the time), but given this restaurant is right opposite Kilmainham Gaol and its the 100 year anniversary of the Easter Rising so there were more tourists than normal around, so they cant be blamed for that!! Food was really good value for money, we got the lunch time special - 2 courses for €10!! Portion size was great and staff were very smiley and friendly!

One of the best restaurants we've been to in Dublin. Although this was our first trip to La Dolce Vita in Kilmainham, we will most certainly be back. The food was fantastic, I had the Tiger Prawns and both my friends had the steaks – 3 clean plates – Wonderful! In addition, we experienced a warm and very attentive service. Atmosphere is friendly and inviting. We'll definitely be back. Thank you for a great dining experience!

La Dolce Vita has been a family favourite for years. A local restaurant to where we are living, and is a popular choice for both special occasions, such as Birthday meals, as well as occasions when we don't want to cook at home. Also a favourite among family members which happily come from other parts of Dublin to eat here, and when family visit from abroad. The food is always beautiful - freshly cooked and excellent value, as well as there being numerous, versatile options for everyone. Staff are always friendly and very efficient too. We look forward to our next meal here, as always!

Hi we went for dinner there last Friday night, it was lovely, We had the most amazing Smoked Chicken Ceasers Salad and the black Prawns Linguine, the bottle of house Sav Blanc was lovely and not too expensive, I have been going to this local restaurant for the last number of years and will continue to do so. Lovely Meal will definitely be going back for the Ceasars Salad Claire

A fairly bad experience. none of the food is "fresh" so we decided to just share a pizza - it was less than average and the service was very rushed. Our starter of garlic mushrooms arrived in less than 5 minutes and our main arrived before we had finished the starter. We had a bottle of house red which was ok but getting our servers attention for another glass proved very difficult. It took quite some time despite the fact that there were no more than 20 or so people in the place. Things went from less than average to worse when we tied to pay. The card machine was bust and we had not been told - neither of us had sufficient cash on us. We will not be going again

This is a local restaurant that I have visted on numerous occasions, but after last night, I will not be returning. I had dinner with my mum last night, we had bruschetta to start, which we both really enjoyed. We followed with Lasagna. Mine was cold in the middle, the waitress too it back and the food was placed into the microwave and then handed back to me - I couldn't belive it, If I wanted a microwaved dinner I could have stayed at home. I asked if this was the norm, and she told me it was, it is precooked and then heated in the microwave as people order it. Needless to say I won't be ordering it again. A real shame as I liked this little place, but I don't go out for dinner to be served reheated food.

My husband and I visited here for a casual bite to eat on a Tuesday evening and were a bit hesitant at first as there was no one else in the restaurant. The decor is a bit dated but is very clean and has quite a homely feel. It was 3 mins past 7 when we entered and when I asked about the earlybird the waitress informed me that it is only available until 7 and it was now after 7. This is fair enough however as we were the only customers in the place, I thought she could have allowed us the early bird menu. We ordered Garlic mushrooms to share which were very tasty and were served with a homemade garlic mayo and a salad garnish. We both had Pizza as our main course which was very good with a nice thin base and plenty of toppings. The waitrss then brought garlic and chilli oil to the table which was a nice touch. The house red was a lovely Italian wine and appeared to be good value at €17.50 a bottle. After we had finished our pizzas, we had to wait almost half an hour for the waitress to come and take our plates away and I had to ask her if we could order coffees. We finished off our meal with 2 coffees. The bill came to just under €60 for 1starter, 2 pizzas, a bottle of house wine and 2 coffees which I felt was a little bit overpriced for what we got. The food was ok but nothing outstanding and reminded me of typical holiday resort food. Overall, its worth a vist but is probably more suited for a casual bite to eat than a romantic meal. I dont think I would be running back here in a hurry.

We visited this restaraunt for lunch while waiting for our trip to the museum, I had the carvery menue costing 10 euro, There is no way this food was freshly cooked, the veg in fact was not cooked at all! the beef looked like sliced processed meat and the veg was hard as rock, the whole thing had been in the microwave and not for long enough as it was nearly cold, I couldn't eat it, the waitress asked if there was something wrong and I told her the veg was hard, however there was no reduction in the bill and no apology, needless to say I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Visited La Dolce Vita last saturday and we had a mixed reaction to our food. There was four of us and we shared 2 bruschetta's.The very friendly waitress served us each a large slice, with a mountain of tomatoes on top. Very tasty and great value. I went for the fillet steak sandwich, which was covered with far too many onions although the steak itself was very tender. My husband had one of the specials of the night, lamb shank. He was not a happy diner! Said it was the worse meal he had in a long time. Shank tiny and potatoes tasteless. The other couple enjoyed what they ordered. Overall, the food was tasty, service prompt and friendly. I will go back and try it again.

This italian has a nice homely atmosphere and the service was genuinely friendly and pleasant but the food we had wouldn't tempt me back.To be fair we didn't order the more authentic italian-sounding dishes from the menu today, we were looking for cheap and cheerful and felt the meat and fish dishes were a little pricey, and there was no early bird option, We had chicken goujons and garlic mushrooms to start, then pizza (Isabella and Frutti de Mare). The portions were very generous, we couldn't finish our pizzas, and also the glass of house red was huge. It just didn't feel like authentically italian food, there was lettuce & mayonnaise based salads and sides of carrots and peas on the menu rather than more mediterranean food but everything we had was tasty and fresh and huge so you could do a lot worse if you want a good feed!
