Nestled under the Grand Canal Railway, Bridge takes its name and distinctive shape from its surroundings. Steeped in the history of the area, the building has been used as a hide out for Padraic Pearse and the Irish volunteers during the 1916 Easter rising.

Now-a-days, it is home to a charming, atmospheric and modern bistro style restaurant.

Conveniently located 5 minutes walk from the Grand Canal Theatre, all theatre goers will find ample parking outside the restaurant and will enjoy the short stroll down to the square.

Our kitchen team works hard to produce daily specials along with our seasonal menu, using locally sourced and fresh produce daily.

Serving fine dining at bistro prices in a laid back, comfortable and friendly atmosphere, Bridge also has a sleek cocktail bar which provides the perfect setting for a pre dinner glass of Prosecco or a perfectly made Martini.

Bridge Bar and Bistro 4.0 star review: Lovely little spot for dinner if you're going to the Bord Gais Theatre. 8 of us went there for a family occasion a few weeks ago. We all ate off the pre-theatre menu. Very good value at 3 courses for 25 euro. Oh my goodness the Cauliflower and hazelnut soup was absolutely divine (can I have the recipe?). It was smooth and creamy and truely delicious. Nearly everyone went for the soup. I had the honeyed figs which was nice. Some of the figs had the roquefort cheese melted onto them and they were lovely but others didn't which was a little strange and didn't taste as nice.
Most of us went for the rib eye of beef which my Husband and I thought a bit tough (he ordered blue and I ordered medium) but everyone else thought they were extremely tasty. Desserts were very good. All in all a very tasty, excellent value for money and an enjoyable experience. Staff were good. I had booked it as a 40th wedding anniversary and I did think the restaurant would make a bit of a fuss over my in-laws but unfortunately they didn't.

Bridge Bar and Bistro 5.0 star review: Great little find and an ideal location if you're going to the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre! The early bird is excellent value but you would want to be into modern food to enjoy this place. We were in and out in 90 minutes but didn't feel rushed at all; would definately go back.

Bridge Bar and Bistro 4.5 star review: Used the Menupages voucher for two 3 course meals. The crab and crayfish starter was very nice although I preferred the venison carpaccio - very very nice! We had the steak to share for mains. This was cooked to perfection and was full of flavour. We will definitely be back for another. The chocolate mousse dessert was the perfect finish to the meal. The seats were very conforatble and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and the wines. Overall it was a very pleasant evening and we shall definitely return soon.

Bridge Bar and Bistro 4.5 star review: A lovely experience. Interesting location but a bit off the beaten track for city centre. However, very handy for Bord Gais Energy theatre and would definitely go there for a pre-theatre meal if going to a show because that is excellent value. Also I have to say we got superb value on the à la carte menu because we had a voucher.
From the delicious breads to start with, the tastes were exquisite and the service excellent.

Bridge Bar and Bistro 4.0 star review: Went for Dinner in Bridge bar last week. There must have been no show on the theatre as it was not too busy. However the atmosphere was still nice, just not buzzing.
The food was of a very high standard. For starter I had the Carpaccio of Wicklow Venison which was fantastic. My partner had the Seared Scallops which were nicely cooked came with a delicious black pudding, although the white onion puree was not the ideal accompaniment for me. The starters were however very expensive at 16 and 14 euro a piece so it was no surprise that the tables either side of us skipped starters completely.
For main we shared the 32oz Steak Delmonico for 2 people sharing which was absolutely fantastic and beautifully presented. We ordered medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. The sauces and sides were also very nice and overall this was one of the best main courses I have had in years. At €62 (for 2) this was a reasonable price and there were no annoying extra charges for the sides.
Desert was nice and well priced although the ice cream was lacking anything special.
The wine selection was good and all price ranges were covered.
Service was excellent. Polite and knowledgeable staff, and plenty of them. Service was not rushed but there also was not too slow.
The décor was lovely and the toilets were clean and well maintained.
Overall an excellent visit and very nice food. Will definitely visit again.

Bridge Bar and Bistro 5.0 star review: Great ambience, interesting decor, very tasty food. We had scallops with black pudding as starters, and they were simply amazing. I had beef fillet as main, and that was also really noce, and perfectly medium, as ordered. Both home made ice creams and chocolate fondant again were really nice. Must go back..

Bridge Bar and Bistro 5.0 star review: My wife and I had delicious 3 course dinner (all wonderfully presented with an excellent bottle of wine) with very friendly and knowledgeable service (not always the case in Dublin), a lovely atmosphere (lively background music), and a good value (thanks to menupages). I hope they add a chicken dish and perhaps a second vegetarian option to the list of mains on the menu.

Bridge Bar and Bistro 4.0 star review: Excellent night out here on Friday last. Friendly and attentive staff. Lovely scallop and black pudding starters for both of us, and the wife was very happy with her gnocchi main course. My fillet steak was good, but was stone cold by the time I had it finished - a hot plate might have kept it warm while I ate it. However, the Menupages voucher didn't work out too well - there was no allowance made on the bill for the fact that we didn't have desserts. However, everything else was charged for, including water - as well as two drinks that we didn't have. This strikes me as - well - a bit mean-spirited. The live singer was great, and the atmosphere was terrific. A great night out - pity there wasn't a little bit more thought when preparing the bill.

Dear Mr. Boate,
Thank you for visiting Bridge, and re-viewing us on Menupages.
I would like to respond to your re-view and clarify one or two points you brought up.
Firstly it is a pity you did not avail of the option of having dessert as this is included in the cost of your menu pages voucher, we do not offer further discounts on an already discounted meal, nor do we substitute sides or drinks etc for a course you may decide not to have. If you read the conditions of the voucher purchased you will note that this is very clearly stated in the terms and conditions as laid out by Menupages.
All plates leave our kitchen warmed as they are stored in heated cabinets, we do not however plate food onto hot plates for safety and presentation purposes, as we were very busy on the night in question there is a possibility your plate was not in the cabinet heating for a long enough period, and thus did not hold its heat too long once in the dinning room. I have addressed this issue with my chef, and I thank you for bringing it to my attention.
The water you referred to as being on your bill was bottled water, which we naturally charge for, I must apologies for two extra drinks being charged for, this is not something that would normally happen I can assure you of that, all bills are checked before being presented to the guest.
However I am happy that you enjoyed the entertainment we provided for our guests, I'm sure you didn't think you would have the bonus of live entertainment with your voucher when you purchased it.
We do hope to welcome you to Bridge again in the not too distant future, please make yourself known to me should you visit us again and I will be happy to look after you.
Kindest regards,
Martina Fox.
