The Goat Bar & Grill 5.0 star review: Since I live in the area for many years I used to visit the "Goat" quite regularly. It is the institution in the area.
Food was a bit better a few years ago but then it was as well more expensive. Prices are quite OK now and considering that it is pub food the quality is still far above average. Try the fried Brie or the chowder which are both great. As well the stir-fries are awesome. Great place for breakfast too. I would say the best full irish in Dublin.
Since the refurbishment it is not as cosy as it was before. The atmosphere is great for a night out watching a match or on Saturdays with live music.
Personnel is always friendly and considering them being always very busy you are always served quickly.

The Goat Bar & Grill 3.0 star review: Went for the rugby game on sunday. Found seats in the bar which was a surprise. There is a dedicated eating area at the back, minus the tvs. There was table service, took a while to get a drink, however waitress was apologetic. Ordered a chicken caesar salad, too much bacon, chicken and parmesan, not enough lettuce. Why is this dish so hard to get right. Burger & chips with side salad were fine according to my friend. A lot of people seem to be having Roast of day. Think food is a bit over priced for a pub. Good service and atmosphere.

The Goat Bar & Grill 3.0 star review: Hadn't been to the Goat for a few years, and decided upon a return the other day as we were in the area. It's been done up since I last visited. Though it seemed quite busy, we found a table. As the place is known for its carvery, I opted to try the beef. This was quite overpriced at €13.50. The beef itself was very fatty, though the gravy was excellent. It came with cauliflower, mashed potato and what appeared to be swede. The vegetables were quite tasteless and the mashed potato was very dry. The whole dish was quite disappointing. My friend's meal looked slightly better. The hand cut chips which came with it were a nice touch which shows that a bit of creativity can be found in the kitchen, but apart from this the food and menu seemed complacent. Service was very haphazard, alternating between heavily made-up twenty somethings who looked like they would have preferred to have been elsewhere, and older waitresses who acted like they had been working in the pub forever and were tired of their jobs. With carvery and a pint approaching €20, there's certainly better value to be had elsewhere these days.

The Goat Bar & Grill 4.0 star review: Exactly what it says on the tin! Good gastro food. I had the honey roasted ham with parsley sauce which even though the sauce was a bit lumpy it was good cooked home style food!! My boyfriend got the battered cod which I tried and it was a little on the dry side but with plenty of choice and a brilliant bar atmosphere you can't really go wrong for a weekend lunch. Not somewhere I'd go on a special occassion though!

The Goat Bar & Grill 1.5 star review: Recently paid a visit to the Goat Bar and Grill for lunch with a few friends. Overall the food and atmosphere were OK, but for the price you have to pay you would expect much more quality. The service was no existent , after waiting 20 minutes to get a drink order, the waitress came over. She was nice at first but seemed to be in a rush, despite the pub not being very busy. Most of the staff who we dealt with were friendly, but you got a sense that they were very uneasy. It seemed as if one waitress/manager was following other members of staff around and commenting on every move. At one stage the table next to us leaned over and pointed her out saying she was very unpleasant (in a few more words). When we tried to order a drink off her she just said "ask your waitress Hun" and walked off laughing.
I have been working in the customer service sector for a number of years and have never seen a situation in which someone follows other members of staff around putting pressure on them and trying to corrected every little mistake, even though the place was not busy.
It was not my first time in the Goat but it will certainly be my last.

The Goat Bar & Grill 4.0 star review: regularly go there as it's a halfway meeting point for my sister. Food is good value and quality at a reasonable price. However, the menu is always the same so no excitement! Only gripe was why charge €2.70 for a 25cl bottle of sparkling water - outrageous!

The Goat Bar & Grill 4.0 star review: The quality of the food here is above your normal pub grub standard although you do pay for this and the place certainly isn't cheap. In saying that, the service is first class and the staff are incredibly pleasant and friendly. It has a huge following of local and loyal regulars who are drawn to it which may explain why the menu hasn't been updated in a while and is starting to look a bit tired. In saying that, not a bad spot for a bite to eat.

The Goat Bar & Grill 5.0 star review: Went here with my family, parents and grandmother on Mothers Day and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Portions were generous, price was reasonable and staff were extremely friendly. All the mothers even left with roses which i thought was a lovely touch. Will be back on Easter Sunday for lunch!!

The Goat Bar & Grill 4.0 star review: Had pub grub here on a Saturday afternoon recently while watching a match. Steak sandwich was very good, couldn't fault it. Service was also good. Slightly more expensive than other similiar places but big varied menu and good food justifies it.
