Toscana (Dun Laoghaire) 3.5 star review: Booked a table for 8 adults and one baby the day before, and were given a nice table, though not spacious enough for some of the party. I chose from the Weekend Special Menu, two courses at €19.95 including glass of house wine, beer or soft drink. Before choosing my dishes I ordered a Rossini (Prosecco & strawberries) as an aperitif, which is really delicious. There is a large variety on the menu, as well as he a la carte menu. For my starter I opted for the Suppli and chose the Pollo Diavola for my main course, and a glass of white house wine. We waited about 10 minutes or so for the starters. My boyfriend and I both ordered Suppli, but the waiter did not bring out enough, they mixed up one order of Suppli for Bruschetta, which we didn’t accept. I let my boyf have one of the two croquettes from my plate, and then shared his plate when it arrived. The suppli themselves are really tasty. They are rice and mozzarella cheese mixed croquettes, served with a fresh side salad and garlic aioli. Definitely recommended! The mains came out without too long a wait in between; my Pollo Diavola was served with a side salad rather than vegetables, and hand cut chips. The chicken was marinated in onion, garlic, herbs & lemon juice and cooked over grill, so it was slightly dry. The garlic aioli and salad were the same as that of my starter so it wasn’t something new at that point, slightly disappointing. The chicken did taste very nice though and the chips were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Overall it was a nice dish but as good as the starter. We didn’t opt for desserts. Roughly €200 for 8 two-course meals, wine, beer, soft drinks & Prosecco. Service was good, can be improved, staff are very friendly themselves and the bathrooms are clean.

Toscana (Dun Laoghaire) 5.0 star review: We were invited to this restaurant to celebrate the wife's colleagues 30th birthday. What a busy place!. Our group table was upstairs. Food arrived and it was flawless. Chairs were placed a little close together hence no elbow room for cutting food! Prosecco was a little flat, I prefer one with a bit more fizz. It was a nice atmosphere and we had a good time. Even better, the birthday girls's husband supprised us all and paid for the whole table!

Toscana (Dun Laoghaire) 5.0 star review: I went here with my son, his wife and my husband. We had the early bird menu. We had Suppli, Bruschetta, Garlic Mushrooms and Minestrone Soup. There were great portions so we all shared and everything was fabulous. There was a wide range of mains and my daughter in law is vegeterian so it was great they had vegetarian options. The staff were fabulous and we finished it off with bellinis. It was great value.

Toscana (Dun Laoghaire) 5.0 star review: Was here with my husband for a meal. I had crab claws to start and Charcoal Grilled Steak for main. My husband is coeliac and it is fabulous that they catered to his dietary needs on the menu. The staff could not have been nicer. Highly recommended.

Toscana (Dun Laoghaire) 5.0 star review: Could not recommend this restaurant more highly. The food is amazing and great value for money. The staff are always friendly and efficient. We had the table in the bay window and we saw dolphins which the kids loved. Will definitely be returning again in the near future. This restaurant is my new addiction and they have a very extensive menu for me to try.

Toscana (Dun Laoghaire) 3.0 star review: Really disappointed with my last visit here. Have been a regular at this restaurant for years but after my last visit will not be returning! On arrival we were shown to our table upstairs but as my elderly father (who is not good on his feet) was walking up the stairs I saw two waiters laughing and chuckling at him literally behind his back. When they caught my eye they stopped immediately. I was no doubt appalled and disgusted at such rudeness. The food was very good but the service was a bit sloppy and the waiters quite rude and impatient. It was as if they just wanted us to leave! I had not been to the restaurant in several months and it was as though they had changed management as I did not recognise any of the staff (the staff I am familiar with were always extremely courteous and polite). Really disappointed with this experience. Toscana have lost a regular customer due to their appalling attitude towards and treatment of paying customers.

Toscana (Dun Laoghaire) 4.5 star review: Everything about this restaurant on the seafront is perfect! My partner and I shared the Chele Di Granchio(crab claws) and it was cooked to perfection(there was about 8-10). I got the Raviollo All'liguria, absolutely delicious and a side portion of mushrooms! My partner ordered the Tagliatelle Con Spinaci E Funghi, he gobbled it all down, and he used the mushrooms from my side order to finish off the tagliatelle sauce . We also got a bottle of white wine. At first we didn't know if the portions were big enough to fill us but it was more than enough. We had to wait half an hour before we could order the dessert (Doppia Torta di Cioccolato and Torta di Banoffi; both so good) and tea and cappucino. The staff were so nice and friendly. Will definitely go back and recommend.
