Great value deal, shame it was almost empty. I've been here for brunch a few times and its always been busy. Excellent service. Only fault was hake dish overall was too oily and could have had more potatoe and veg.

Been to Harry's Bar twice with my family and we were happy with the service and food at both times. The 1st time we went there for breakfast and the 2nd time was for some scones and coffee in the afternoon. We were attended to and served quickly. Lovely place to go too for a quick bite especially when just walking around the Dun Laoghaire town.

Went for meal with the girlfriend on a Friday evening , expecting the place to be packed as it usually appears to be. It was very empty though and the atmosphere wasn't great as a result. The food was nice although the mashed potato had been really over worked and was quite starchy... almost the texture of glue. We had bought a voucher for Harry's Bar on Menu Pages so at least it was very cheap for the full meal. The staff were very nice and if anything they were over attentive as there were so few people there they had loads of time for us. I would definitely go back cause, even though I was a little dissapointed with the food, I think it is generally better and I really like the setting.

Availed of a meal deal. Friendly welcome and allowed to choose our own table even to the extent of putting two tables together so that we could both sit with our backs to the wall. My wife had Chilli Garlic Gambas on Toasted Bruschetta and I had Tex-Mex Chilli Beef Nachos as starters: both generous portions and very tasty. Had tuna from starter menu as a main course + Char-Grilled Aged Striploin - all full of flavour. Attentive waiter replenished our water without needing to be asked. The quality of the food and the friendliness of the service made for a very pleasant experience - will be back.

I've been eating at Harry's for years, mostly the odd breakfast of light lunch and have always had a great esperience.
Recently however I feel the standards have sadly dropped. I went in for a breakfast about 2 weeks ago and was left unattended for over 15 minutes, no menu, nothing, The place is hardly huge and it wasn't even full but the waiter just completely ignored me so the girl making coffees had to leave her station and give me a menu. Eventually the waiter came over, took my order and even then got it wrong.
2 days ago I went back with my family for some lunch and again left feeling let down.
Firstly the 3 of us had just sat down at a table for 4 when we were asked to move to a table for 2 with another chair. A very tight fit. Immediatly we vacated the table for 4 another party of 3 showed up and were allowed to sit at the table we had just left. They had not reserved a table, as we had not. We were not impressed!
The 3 of us ordered. When two of the main courses were being served the waiter informed us that he shouldn't have taken my wife's order for pancakes as they had run out of pancake mix and didn't have time to make more. How can you not have time to mix some flour, eggs milk and water together?
There was barely an apology, just a statement.
So my wife had to re-order while we ate our lunch and we sat there while she eventually got hers.
There was no warmth in the service, we had no feeling that our visit was appreciated, so we will not be back.
A real shame as it used to be really great.

Dear Mr Pinto,
As with all our reviews on Menu Pages, we consider carefully what is said by the customer. Thankfully, our reviews are usually around the 4star+ level. which we see is the level you generally review at.
With regard to the first visit you were unhappy with, it is rare that a table is not attended to, but it can happen, as mistakes can be made and then we rely on the customer to indicate their presence. I apologise you were left waiting.
As for the second visit, we asked you to move, as we try to manage our tables to maximise the number of seats. In these times, that is critical for us. Most of our customers are fine with this and understand. As for the food order, happily we were very busy and unfortunately we had run out of pancakes, unfortunately too Rory had forgotten and put your order in the kitchen. This was only noticed at the time the rest of the order was ready. Jack was upfront with you, when delivering the food and apologised a number of times, and took your replacement order, which was delivered in 5 mins. We were not in a position to make pancake mix at that time, as it would have disturbed the timing of the other orders in the kitchen. In addition the pancake mix and preparation is not as simple as you suggest. Our preparation was behind, as our 2nd shift cook was an hour late due to transport issues.
As you can see, most problems are around people and unfortunately, we all make mistakes, we try to minimise them, always improving. While we rarely impact the customer, in your case we did. My apologies. Do call and see either Andy or myself. Derek

Very friendly cafe and a good place to meet a friend for a cup of coffee or Saturday brunch. I got the big breakfast which was lovely. My only complaint was I only got 1 sausage instead of 2 but I was full anyway with the generous portions. Lovely coffee too. Would recommend!

Like the food and go here sometimes when im in this part of town. But everytime I leave, after having lunch, or a breakfast tea & muffin, there's a bad taste in my mouth with the price on the bill. 10euro for a cafe ham & cheese sandwich, is a bit much in these times, even if it is an open sandwich. And I noticed a slice of cake was boardering on 7euro.
There are 2 places in town that I frequent on Bath Avenue, Ballsbridge and Benburb St, Smithfield that are banging out amazing food at lunch for around 5euro.
Having said that, I always get a seat here when I pop in which is nice. But maybe that's because of the daytime prices.

Had a lovely brunch on Sunday in Harry's. It came recommended from some Welsh friends who also ate there on Sunday morning. Service was good, staff were friendly and we had a lovely seat in the window. Thank you! Keep up the good work!

Went for Breakfast numerous times and Dinner for the first time the other week, had high expectations due to the breakfast always being great, as its a usual haunt on a sunday morning, however the dinner wasn't as good as the cafe. The atmosphere is always great and the staff are so nice here, you'd nearly invite them to join you for dinner. The early bird is good value in comparison to others in Dun Laoghaire

Went here last Saturday evening for the first time and I'll definitely be back! We went for the early bird menu which was really good value at €17 for 2 courses. Service was great and staff were lovely. We both ordered the classic burger and I can honestly say that it was the nicest burger we have ever had! Would strongly recommend this restaurant and if you go order the classic burger, you won't be disappointed.
