Had steak with a colleague at the bar. Steak was poor, meagre and tough. Bill was a bit steep for the food. Staff were friendly enough. Will be a while before I'm back.

I won't be rushing back here anyday soon the food was basic the staff a bit rude and not enough customers to create an atmosphere and with so few customers I would think the waitress would notice when the food was finished instead of leaving the finished plates on the table for 10 mins before asking if we would like anything else next time I will walk on by unless I want a beer on a nice day then ill sit in their beer garden which is quite beautifull

Fab place, great service, brilliant for steak, they do great steak on the stones nights. Loads of special offers on wine. The only thing is we went on steak night and it was incredibly smoky also the tables were all full and quite squished together ( packed as a result of the great food and deals!)

Visited The Queens Bar with my partner for the first time last Sunday afternoon. It was busy but by no means overrun. We were extremely disappointed with both the service and the food. We waiting 45 mins for our food and had to ask twice if it was on its way. The waitress told us the first time that it was being plated up (she didn't seem very concerned that we were waiting that long), however we still had to wait 10 minutes before it arrived, however we had also asked again in the meantime, when what looked like the head waiter came and asked us if everything was okay. He apologized and said they were very busy because of the weather. It was mild out but dull and cloudy and we had heard a waitress tell another customer that they were not serving food outside due to being understaffed, so I don't know understand what the weather had to do with it. Also none of the wait staff seemed to have any urgency about them for such a 'busy' afternoon. When the food arrived it was luke warm to cold but we were starving at this point so ate it anyway. I got the burger and chips; the burger was okay however the option of chips was tiny for a 12 euro meal. We just wanted to leave at this stage so my partner went up to pay rather than waiting for the bill. When he got to the register there was several staff present however none paid any attention to him and he could see and hear that some sort of an argument was going on and one of the waitress was upset. He then sought out the waiter who had approached us previously and gave him the cash directly and let him know of our complaints. Neither of us are fussy when it comes to a bit of Sunday pub grub lunch and have never complained in the past; but we will not be going to Queens again.

Loved the steak on the stone - I had the fillet and it was excellent quality meat. The accompanying sauces and chips were really tasty. Service and ambiance were both very good, I was surprised how busy it was mid-week. It was good value too, and seeing as I am now on a protein diet for the month of Jan - I will defo be going back for another few steaks on the stone but this time minus the fries!

Ate in Queens for Sunday Lunch last wk & have to say was disappointed overall.
We asked how the Beef was cooked, told it was medium - when it came out it was well done, sent it back & it was slightly better but med/well.. Mashed potato lacked any seasoning at all, there was a tiny amount of gravy on the plate & when I asked for more a measely bit came out in a tiny ramekin.
Service was ok but to be honest the Wait Staff could do with being a bit more friendly.

on a sunny day last week i deceided to give the queens in dalkey another go as the last visit was quite memorable for all the wrong reasons, well im sorry i did as it was even worse than the last time. my friend and i deceided we would share the chicken wings to start and they were very good but it went downhill from there. i ordered the only salad on the menu. which was a ceaser salad. i have never tasted anything like it the chicken which i was to pay €2 extra was like a processed slice you would buy in the supermarket.the crutons must have been lying in the kitchen for weeks as they were hard as a rock and the anchovies were normal unsalted ones. the dressing was not home made it has a most unpleasant taste.it was the most unpleasant salad i have had in years.the bag of salad you buy in the supermarket with dressing in a plastic bag tasted better than that.i have never sent a salad back in my life!!!!! my friend asked for the roast of the day but was told they didnt have that but they had half a roast chicken on the specials so she choose that.the presentation of the dish was unbeleiveable as it was thrown on to some mash and vegetables it looked very unappetising. our waitress was very helpful and asked me would i like to order anything else off the menu at that stage i opted for a side order of chips because i thought they couldnt go wrong with those. the service was better than the last time but no apology nor no manager to be seen. i had wanted a healthy option again but that is not available. everyone else in the restaurant seemed to be ordering fish and chips and burger and chips and they all looked good but not very healthy its such a pity they cant get the food right as its such a good location. i will probably return as loacation is so good but i need to be prepared to eat burgers or steak or chips only. my salad or chips were not added to the bill.

Based on the good reviews from this very website we booked a table for 2. Upon arrival, we were greeted with no record of our booking, but no harm done, there was a spare table available. Our waiter promptly introduced himself and described the specials on offer. I decided to go with a starter from the specials, a Gorgonzola Fondue and the Fillet Steak for the main, my wife, the duck salad and also the fillet steak. We chose a bottle of red from the specials which was very nice indeed. The starter arrived in double quick time, and my wife's duck salad was perfect, plenty of duck, plenty of salad and plenty of flavour. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for my "Gorgonzola Fondue on Rustic loaf". It was truly awful. 3 boring cuts of toasted dry white bread accompanied a bowl of pungent inedible rubbish. I tried 2 spoonfuls out of hope but swiftly had to give up. When collecting the starters, I wasn't asked why I had left it almost intact, and when I brought it to their attention this was met with surprise but nothing more. Our steaks arrived and were accompanied by 1 sauce (not 3), a small bowl of "salad" (lettuce) and 7 fries, 7........and nothing more. As I write this I am wondering am I just being a big grump but no, honestly, it was this poor. Out of pure hunger, I went for desert, and we both had the warm chocolate brownie which was delicious but it was too little too late. At no point during our meal were we asked if everything was to our satisfaction and I for one, left without any satisfaction from my experience of the Queens.....
