A little hidden gem in the suburbs. Excellent French'ish cooking, fantastic presentation and great value (especially early bird). It's one if those places that nobody is telling anyone about in case it gets too popular. Treat yourself.

4 of us had the early bird menu here last night.
With 2 courses for €20 and 3 for €23 and a reasonable wine list it is good value local restaurant.
I had calamari which was tasty but could have been cooked a little bit longer.
I then had duck confit which was server is a cassoulet, it was a delicious, rustic dish that looked lovely and tasted great.
The other choices at the table were a starter of soup which was very good and the third starter was a special of beef carpaccio.
I tasted the beef and I thought it was very good as did my boyfriend who’s dish it was. There was not forth started.
The other 3 all ordered steak to be cooked different ways and all were please with the dishes. The presentation of the steaks
was (as with the duck) rustic and lovely.
I will certainly visit again and I would recommend for the good food, good value and friendly service

I've become a big fan of this little restaurant, I've eaten here several times over the last few months and I think they are going from strength to strength.
This time I had the calamari, which was very fresh with delicate crispy batter and a delicious red pepper salsa and aioli. I stole many of my partners mussels in a creamy white wine sauce which was served with their curry bread, a fantastic combination. We had the fish pie and the special of baked halibut and scallops for our mains, both were excellent. We finished off with a cheese board with their homemade crackers, very enjoyable.
As always the service was very good, the atmosphere was pleasant and there was no alarm on receipt of the bill.
I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

My fiance and I had dinner here a few Saturday nights ago and it was absolutely fantastic. We had the early bird which was great value at €19.95 for 2 courses. I started with the fish croquette which was well presented and full of flavour if not just a little lacking in seasoning. My partner had the charcuterie plate which was delicious, lots of everything and more than enough to share. The warm bread we had to share was so good when we were asked did we need any more we couldn't resist. Nice touch too as usually the bread is whipped away and you don't get a chance for any more. For main I had the duck and it was cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside and beautifully tender inside, Iv'e been dreaming about it since! My fiance had the baked cod which was light, fresh and again cooked perfectly. A cozy feel and a full restaurant brought a lovely buzz to the dining room. The service was faultless. Blackrock has been crying out for a place like this and Iv'e no doubt they'll do well if they continue serving such excellent food at these prices. Can't wait to return!

We've been meaning to visit Le Plancha for a while and finally made it on Saturday night. The food here is bistro-style, operating from a relatively simple menu with just a few dishes of the day (for example, white onion and thyme soup as a starter and Le Plancha scallops for mains). All of the food that we ate was tasty and good and we cleaned our plates, which is just about the best recommendation you can give a restaurant. Glasses of wine are available at EUR5 each and the wine list seems reasonable if you want a bottle. We couldn't fit dessert but a good selection of traditional style desserts (think apple and rhubarb crumble) are offered. All in all, a very nice meal at a local restaurant. We'll be back.

Al fresco :)
Went with a friend this evening and felt compelled to write a review as I was astounded at how good the food was and mainly at the fact that I hadn't heard of this place! The weather was lovely and we sat outside. Heaters were needed a bit later on and they even have complimentary blankets for those out smoking or just feeling a bit chilly outside.
Menu is changed regularly and I went for 2 specials this evening - crab with an avocado mousse and breaded halibut with sandfire and a butter and carrot sauce. I cannot praise the main enough, the fish was exquisite. Starter was lovely too but the halibut was beautifully cooked - faultless. Reasonable too with 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts and 4 glasses of wine at under €100. The house syrah is very good quality and only €5 a glass.
Actually can't wait to go back now i've discovered it!!!

Went here party of 2 adults & 2 children on a Thursday night so was able to avail of the all night early bird offer. Food was excellent both kids and adults and even the youngest cleared their plate. Restaurant is tiny so will go back minus the kids for a longer more relaxing evening. I gave it 5 stars for value as were there midweek and had the all night early bird offer. It would be a good bit more expensive at the weekend but really good food so hopefully it will be worth the next visit!

My husband and I have had the pleasure of eating in this restaurant several times since it opened and have not been disappointed. The food is exquisite and the attention to detail with decor, service and general attitude is second to none. From the time of booking to the end of the lovely evening is pure pleasure. This little piece of heaven is just what our area has cried out for over the last few years. It is a very well run establishment and the owner is extremely professional and shines at what she does. The menu will have even the pickiest diners spoilt for choice with delicate presentation and quirky additions to quality ingredients. The tasteful canopied heated area at the front of the building has added another lovely option for diners wishing to eat in comfort outdoors. Well done to all involved. Can't wait for my next visit.

Myself and girlfriend popped into Le Plancha last Sunday as it has only recently opened & looked very inviting. The interior is decorated well and has a very warm feel to it, with spanish guitar playing in the background which sets the atmosphere appropriately as the food influences are Irish~Iberian.
We were given the early evening menu of which there were only around 5 options to choose from for both the starters and mains, there was also a special on, that was included in the early evening price. After some deliberation we ordered the Charcuterie Plate to share, I ordered the Sirloin Steak with chilli butter and my better half chose the special which was Hake Fritas with Sea Salt Chipped Potatoes and Peas.
The starter arrived in 5 minutes and was one of the best looking charcuterie plates I have seen, it included cured beef, ham hock and other selections of ham with an apple~citrus salsa, baby artichokes and some home made breads. We agreed it was beautiful, especially the cured beef which was devine. I was a bit partial to the ham hock with the apple~citrus sauce so I might have scoffed most of that...oooppss!!
Once the starter was polished off we then received our mains in about 5-10 minutes. Once again, presentation was beautiful, my medium steak was cooked to perfection and it was presented on a wooden board with the sea salt potatoes in a mini chip pan with grilled onions & mushrooms on the side. My girlfriends Hake was equally well presented. I'm delighted to report that not only did the food look beautiful & appetising but the taste didn't disappoint either.
We finished off with a selection of ice-creams as we were stuffed, apparently these were homemade as well and where a lovely end to a beautiful meal.
The price was very reasonable for what was a better meal than we've had in much more established pricier restaurants. To say I'm recommending it is an understatement, I can't wait to return again. Best of luck to the restaurant!!
