Excellent Food, Excellent Atmosphere, Excellent Service. We really appreciate being treated the same as any customer paying full price, when we are on a menu pages offer! We have not visited Roly's Bistro in the last 3 months, because for a very long time we were not receiving menu pages email offers. They just suddenly stopped coming! We only started receiving them again in the last few weeks, (you see we are pensioners), and for the same reason, we are a little disappointed that the offer price has gone up by 20 euro, since the last offer!! Date of visit is incorrect, because, as I have already explained, we were not receiving email offers, until recently!

The main problem with Rolys is that the tables are too close together and sometimes the background noise and crowding rather than adding atmosphere detracts from the pleasure of the dining experience. Such was the case on this visit where we, two diners were caught between two separate large parties each celebrating some family event and we were so drowned out by the noise of our neighbours that we could barely converse. The food as always was excellent, quality fresh ingredients, excellent food combinations and presentation, the seafood platter is particularly recommended, but service on this ocassion fell slightly before the usual standard. We were brought drinks which we did not order and despite us pointing out the error not accepting them they were included on our bill although removed without question when we pointed out the error. Despite the shortcomings on this occassion the quality of the food will always bring me back to Rolys.

Went with a large group to Rolys on a miserable, cold & wet Thursday in December. Service was impeccable from the start, taking our wet coats at the entrance and ushering us straight to our 2 tables upstairs. The choice on the menu was perfect and the quality of the ingredients was top notch. Everyone agreed it was the best meal eaten in Dublin this year. Quality food, not overly 'cheffy' - excellent value for money.

I love Rolys. We have been here on several occasions, both for lunch and for dinner. The food is excellent, though on this occasion I was very disappointed with my dessert, a knickerbocker glory. The cream tasted overwhipped and the jelly was hard. But my starter of pate and my main course, steak were fabulous. I could not fault them. I think that perhaps the knickerbocker glory would not be a popular choice for dessert, considering the other options on offer,( which were all fabulous, according to the rest of my party), and perhaps that is why there wasn't much care taken with it. It definitely would not put me off going again but perhaps next time I will go for a more luxurious dessert.

I was our first visit to this restaurant and was a birthday gift. Everything was just fantastic - from the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were most attentive. The food was beautifully presented and mouthwaterlingly delicious. Everything about the experience was fabulous. We will definitely return again.

Keep doing what you are doing Roly's because it is really working well. Incidentally your waiting staff are superb as is your offer. One of the best restaurants in Dublin.

Rollys is one of my favourite restaurants. The food, service and atmosphere are always excellent. We had lunch on a Friday and the place was buzzing. Steak in particular is always terrific but I couldn't fault any of their food.

I've been coming to Roly's now for the last three or four years. There's always a good atmosphere - it's busy, busy, chatter, chatter - all effected with military-like precision. This precision is carried out in a friendly informal Irish way and that takes good training. On Friday we arrived for lunch at 2.00 pm and it was obvious from the off, that the restaurant was extremely busy. Greeted inside the door by the booking desk, coats taken and escorted upstairs to our table- it was ten minutes before our order including wine and water was taken. Twenty minutes our first course arrived with one big exception - we had still not received a glass of water or our wine. It was unprecedented poor service. The starters were immediately sent back - and the poor service communicated in no uncertain terms. It was an unfortunate breakdown - something we had never experienced at Roly’s before. However the maître d, Khan (spelling?) came to our rescue – the water and wine arrived immediately and a quieter corner table was arranged. Roly’s usual order and service was restored. And the food - interestingly, the food was good, but not great – main courses of chicken with a black stuffing and roast pork with a basil stuffing on a calvados jus were so-so - the real star of the lunch was the blueberry and almond tart served with wild berries and ice cream – with a hot coffee on the side – sublime! I hope they they keep it on the menu - delicious.. Khan then offered us a drink on the house but we graciously declines – being a lunchtime meal etc... It was a poor start but it was rescued by Khan and the team – who realizing their mistake – went out of their way during a very busy service period to rectify the situation and they did it admirably. So thank you to the team. We’ll definitely be back.
