2.5 Plan B 2.5 star review:
This restaurant has plenty of potential but just isn't there yet. I had the prawn starter, arrabiata and tiramisu and wasn't that impressed. My arrabiata wasn't angry enough and I couldn't taste the chilli or garlic. Unfortunately my tiramisu wasn't anything to write home about not like the house white which was excellent. I am going to wait for a while before I go back to Plan B and I really hope that they get the basics sorted in the meantime. I do feel that this restaurant has a future if they up the quality of their ingredients and improve the service. I ate with 16 work colleagues and the restaurant was empty and yet they refused to seat us together.

I have eaten in Plan B on numerous occasions both at lunch and for dinner and have never been disappointed. The food has always been terrific. I highly recommend the Garlic Prawns or the anti pasti. There is a good selection of wines and service has always been polite and friendly.

I made a return visit to Plan B on Saturday evening and I have to say I was so pleased to find it was as good as I remembered and has still got that something special. The place is so clean to start and standards have remained as I like them. I had the lasange ,which would have been enough for two , very tasty. My friend had a pasta dish, which looked very good. Both wine and coffee were very good .service was efficient and friendly. We had a lovely evening, very relaxing and comfortabe. I made a decision that I will be back again soon.

5.0 Plan B 5.0 star review:
As a regular lunch venue, this place is second to none. I go most weeks and it gets better and better. A little retro in decor, it's a classic Italian Trattoria in terms of both ambience and food.
The service is exceptional, both friendly and hands on. Nothing is too much trouble. Today, I ordered off the menu, turning a tagliatelle arrabiata into a fusilli arrabiata with chicken and sundried tomatoes. Exactly as ordered with just the right amount of kick.
You can safely ask the waiting staff to select the wine and they will come up trumps. Coffee comes in large bowl cups and strong enough to overcome any afternoon drowsiness.
The best time to dine is when owner Linda is in the kitchen but it has yet to let me down in countless visits. If good quality Italian food for a reasonable price is your bag, make Plan B your Plan A.

Visited Plan B with a deal voucher last night. I have to say I wouldnt recommend it.
Our starter of fresh bread came from a sliced pan!! 4 slices of Brennans for €5 or €6... My friends main of lasagne came with no salad or the advertised garlic bread. When she asked for the bread, she was told there was none. (He did discount the bill for this). My main of a prawn tagliatelli dish was average. Certainly not worth €17 - very overpriced. The lone waiter disappeared for a smoke at one stage leaving the restaurant empty. This restaurant wont survive long if they dont improve. Disappointing.

My bf and I come here about once a month as he is addicted to the lasange...and I'm addicted to the lovely wines! :-) His brother is visiting from Thailand and wanted to come here as he had the lasange here last time he was here and he loved it too. For starters, we shared two portions of garlic prawns. For mains, I had the fresh salmon salad for the first time. It was delicious, I will definitely get it again. The two guys had the lasagne, which they wolfed down. We had chocolate mousse for dessert and also shared two bottles of red wine. I suspect that we'll be back before the visitor goes back to Thailand!

Third time I have been here (previously in 2009 and 2010). Very nice casual place - food is good - I had bruschetta and penne al ragu which was lovely. Wine and beer available. Bill came to EUR75 for starter and large salad starter, 2 mains, 1 dessert, 3 drinks and tea and coffee. Lovely atmosphere and very much a 'neighbourhood' restaurant. Service was good. Really like this place

Plan b is a great spot staff all very friendly, good selction of italian wines and great coffee. the food is always very tasty and fresh. i only issue is the prices i usally go for the ravoli with walnut & spainish think its a little over priced considoring you can get a early bird meal in many restaurants for the same price.

I have been eating here for years. Recently diagnosed coeliac so I don't go as much as I used to. Food is very very good. Freshly made and great quality. Staff have always been lovely and you are made feel at home. The prices are pre recession and need looking at as it isn't cheap. That said it's always busy and people always come back. Best Tomato and Basil soup in Ireland!

This is a great little spot,
Love their antipasti, The tomato and basil soup is just the way its meant to be, bruschetta is crispy, tomatoes are probably the best i've tasted outside of napoli, A very good winelist (mostly pricey wines but all worth the money)
The pasta portions are a little bigger than they used to be, although i thought the small bowl was plenty and i'm a big grubber.
I'm never disappointed when i go here, always a nice homely atmosphere, and friendly staff.
I'm local to the area and it is never empty.
Worth travelling to, Amongst the best of the italian places i've been,
A+
