Had truly amazing meal in cosy comfy atmosphere of The Hole in the Wall, complete with finest Christmas decs. I defy you to find a better steak in the country and cooked to perfection to boot. The bar manager will find a seat even where the situation looks impossible. He will pair the most gorgeous wine with the meal and deliver it to the table in the finest glasses with the aplomb it deserves. To top it all, a member of staff entertains all the customers with his amazing joie de vivre! The ability to choose wine from the off licence without paying corkage means you can choose a gorgeous wine at a more than reasonable price. I really can't recommend this place enough. You should definitely go! At this time of the year, the gorgeous decorations really add to the atmosphere. Finally, it is incredibly reasonably priced. Roll on next Friday!

Staff are excellent here, pity about the food, we had garlic mushrooms, no real taste of garlic, and chips were the worst, so big that they were not really cooked through. Shame as we are local.

Had delicious meal in the Hole in the Wall. 6 of us ordered a mix between fillet steak, haddock, cod, and scallops All of which were delicious and fairly priced. The fillet steak was 20e, marked on the night as a Chefs Special. We ordered from the evening menu but the early bird which runs until 6.30pm is great value. 19.95 for 2 courses, with 3e supplement for steaks. Also, you can choose from hundreds of bottles of wine for your table from the off-license which is in the middle of the pub. There is no corkage charge, so you can grab a bottle of wine for your table starting at 10e. Good service and the wedges that come with mains are amazing as is the blackpepper sauce! Would thoroughly recommend!
