Mirchi 4.5 star review: This was my second time eating at Mirchi this year, this intimate restaurant has very enjoyable food, nice wines (6euro per glass) and great table service which is not rushed and adds to the relaxed atmosphere. As with most restaurants in this Malahide village you can expect slightly high prices so you could be spending towards 100euros for a full meal for 2 people for what is essentially a curry, however the restaurant does offer a good value early bird menu and deals through menupages which won't clear out your wallet.

Mirchi 5.0 star review: Myself and my partner went to Mirchi on a Menupages voucher. It was our first time here as we didn't know it existed. We are more acquainted with another very good Indian in Malahide (I probably can't mention names?). Well Mirchi not only gives our former haunt a run for its money but surpasses it for overall experience.

First off, the staff are friendly and respectful without being fake or overbearing. We had our choice of tables as the restaurant was not full. The restaurant itself is decorated very pleasantly, and the music is gentle Indian style music, not too loud. So the overall first impression was very good and relaxed.

I ordered the lamb chops for starter and my partner ordered the Tali Wali Machli (fish). Both were divine. The lamb chops were succulent, tender and beautifully spiced. They were served with some sauces and a salad. I would never really rave about a salad, but even the flavours of that were lovely and complemented the chops very well. My partner's fish was likewise, perfectly cooked and delicious. For the main course we had the Himalayan chicken and the Machli Achari (fish). The chicken dish was again, beautifully spiced with a richness and depth of flavour that was quite wonderful. The fish was again perfectly cooked with a piquant, pickle sauce. The rice was top notch. We also ordered a Peshwari naan which was probably the nicest I've had. Unfortunately we were too full to even look at the dessert menu so I can't comment on that. We shared a bottle of organic red wine that was also very pleasant.

Both my partner and I do love our Indian food and I guess we might be hard to please. In short, I am delighted that I have discovered Mirchi. We will definitely be back. The one thing that we did notice was the lack of a distinct vegetarian section on the menu. My partner currently eats fish but also likes to have a vegetarian option. But you can of course order standards like saag paneer and daal.

My advice, definitely go!

Mirchi 4.5 star review: The starter and main course were absolutely gorgeous. I am aware that Indian restaurants are not renowned for their desserts, but the ours were really very very poor. It had come straight out of the freezer and all you could taste was ice, and could not be eaten. Such a shame to end a lovely meal.

Mirchi 4.5 star review: Place was a tad quiet for a Saturday night....food was superb and full of flavour...service was very good.Really enjoyed the fact that there was a decent gap between courses and with a voucher it was excellent value for money. Will visit again the future.

Mirchi 4.5 star review: I'm not the easiest to please. After working in hospitality for years my standards are high but I could not fault a single thing. The standard of food was right up there with the more expensive indian restaurants. Persentation 5 star. Service was attentive without being overbearing. The new interior is so much better then it was last time I visited. It is my new favourite restaurant in Malahide.
