Kajjal 5.0 star review: A group of 6 of us went here for a 3 course early bird at €19.95 each.
The early bird consisted of a choice of 3 starters, kebab, vegetarian and prawns, a choice of 3 mains Chicken, Prawns and Lamb served with rice and naan bread and an ice cream dessert.
The tables are well spaced and set with crisp white linen.
We had a reservation & were seated immediately and were brought iced water and poppadoms with a selection of chutneys. All the starters were brought and were delicious – lean meat kebabs and succulent prawns. Each person’s main course was served in its own little lidded pot with side dishes of pilau rice and plenty of naan. Various different spice levels had been requested and we were all happy with the level of spiciness of our meals. My chicken dish had large chunks of chicken breast in a very tasty sauce.
Courses were served in a timely manner, cleared promptly once finished and we were left to chat without feeling rushed once we’d finished
Very good value, friendly service and definitely a place I will revisit.
Even though it was a midweek night, the place was very busy so a reservation would be recommended. Full menu and take away also available.

Kajjal 5.0 star review: We ate here last night for the first time - very busy for a Wednesday which was impressive. Staff were impressive and recommended dishes for us. Food was amazing - best I have ever had. The 3 of us ordered the Makanwala Murghi, Makhani Murghi, Beef Jalfrezi, Channa Masala, along with rice and naans. Service was impeccable and food was presented in little red dishes which I really want!! Bill came to 115 euro which included beers, soft drinks and 2 desserts - my son had the Mississippi Mud Pie which he said was amazing.

Will definitely be heading back to Kajjal.

Kajjal 4.0 star review: I enjoyed an evening meal in kajjal. Very difficult to get an evening booking at the weekend. The food is excellent and the service was quite good although all the parties food was not brought all together. The atmosphere was a little stuffy with very few people appearing very jovial. Perhaps this was to do with people talking quietly as the tables are quite close together which is my one complaint regarding the venue.

Kajjal 5.0 star review: Had dinner here for the first time on Friday, it was excellent. Food was really good, full of flavours. Shared a behari kebab, portion was plenty for two. was spicy with a lovely yogurt with spices. Had a prawn kharal masala, it was excellent, prawns were melt in the mouth. My friend had lamb rogan, which she said was v good. we had pilau rice and a kishmish nan, both of which were great. There is a featured wine, we shared a glass, it was excellent and good value.
Service was excellent, nice space between courses, never felt rushed even though table was required back by 8. The decor is lovely. It was v busy for early on a Friday and having eaten there I now know why.
Looking forward to going back.

Kajjal 5.0 star review: I've eaten here in the past with my husband in the evening time & have absolutely loved it on each visit - it's a definate favourite of ours. However, we planned a large family meal on a Saturday afternoon with all the kiddies in toe & were a little apprehensive. It turned out to be perfect. The staff were very friendly, helpfull & welcoming to the children. We were given a large round table at the back of the restaurant which felt quite private. The food was superb as always. We wanted to change a few of the menu options around a little & this was no problem at all. Service was fast, efficient, pleasant & unobtrusive. The restaurant was busy & there were a number of families with young children. However the atmosphere still remained quite intimate. For the size of our group & the amount of food we ordered the bill seemed very reasonable. Compliments to the whole team, it's very obvious why the restaurant continues to draw the customers back time & time again!

Kajjal 5.0 star review: a friend and i by chance ended up here after not finding anywhere in howth to our liking! food was gorgeous i opted for the salad of chickpeas, feta, spinach and onion this came with a juice from the lunchtime specials and cost 9.95 and it was no problem changing the juice for a soft drink, my friend opted for the paneer served with pilau rice from the lunch specials. it was also really tasty and flavoursome. we would love to come back and try dinner but living in meath it might be a while before we will get a chance. staff were very attentive and it was a nice touch to see the water jugs had mint in them

Lamb Cutlets with Garlic, Lemon and Paprika

Why not make up a large quantity of this marinade in advance – it is wonderful with cutlets and would also work well with leg steaks or loin chops. The longer you marinate the meat for, the better the flavour!
