2.0 Bon Appetit Brasserie 2.0 star review:
My girlfriend and I visited Le Restaurant with a voucher. I had a starter of quail, bacon and quail egg, while my girlfriend's starter was a goats cheese salad. We had a main course of sea bass, and veal, and for dessert we had a coffee panna cotta, and a banana caramel tart. My girlfriend had one glass of wine, and I had still water.
The service was adequate, and the food was ok. Unfortunately that is all that I can say about it. It was ok, not great. It was certainly not worth the €150 that the bill came to. We had even declined coffee, as that would have added an extra €13 onto our bill, and the way the meal had panned out I very much doubt that the coffee would have been worth that price!
I had expected the bill to be as much as it was, but I had also expected to be wowed by my dining experience, which should be a given from a Michelin starred restaurant. To add insult, a service charge of 12.5% was added to the bill. I believe that I am a fair tipper, and usually tip at that rate anyway, but felt that the management were trying to squeeze every penny from me.
Overall, I was not impressed and will not be returning.

Food was fab. Out with the girls party of 10 had a lovely round table so everyone could chat. Had the black Pudding starter, exceptionally tasty and well presented as was the pork. Many in out group had the €75 deal. 2 starters, 2 mains and btl wine. Great value. Only one small complaint. Orderd the creme brûlée which wasn\'t traditional creme brûlée, may have had a touch of Hestons influence and although tasted nice consisted of a jar full of foam. Will most definitely be back!

It's a real pity. I hate getting the feeling of being ripped off and thats what you get when you go to Bon Appetit. At 60 Euro per head for their dinner menu I think that it is reasonable to expect some potatoes and veg to be served with the main course. Nope, this is all charged as extra. The food is good and very well presented. The service charge of 18 Euro added to my bill is excessive. I am always a good person to tip but when the choice is taken from you it leaves you with the feeling of "We will get every last cent from you". Tea and coffee is charged at 4 euro each. I think that I have said enough, only one more thing, We won't be back. I was not surprised that there were so many empty tables. Come on Bon Appetit get your act together and stop ripping valued customers off.

We had a voucher for this meal and found that the bill more than we had expected - granted there was a "voluntary" service charge already included on the bill but the waiter explained that we did not need to pay this even though it was already added.... saying that we decided that the service merited the charge - It is a long time since we had such an excellent meal, beautifully presented and served - you could taste the individual flavours of each bite of delicious food - couldn't fault it. Only problem is that I will have to save up seriously to go again and I can see that being well down the road! - the bill including the voucher came to nearly €400 for four people - over the top in this time of recession .....

I have lived in Dublin for the past three years. On Saturday my dining partner booked a meal in Bon Appetit Restaurant in County Dublin. Upon arrival it was explained to me that the main Michelin-starred restaurant (for which he had booked) was closed for two weeks as it does annually. The French waiter then assured me a good meal in the Brasserie part of the restaurant. Slightly disappointed, we accepted.
Our meal was one of the best I have ever had. Very, very accomplished cooking. We opted for a €30 menu with additions. To start I had foie gras parfait, brioche and spiced pears, my dining partner had cauliflower risotto with brown crab and some apples. So good we opted for a third starter of "salt cod scotch egg" (best starter I've ever eaten). Our mains consisted of spiced smoked cod risotto cake with poached duck egg and Herb-poached sea trout with pomme puree and cockles and mussels. Perfectly cooked. To finish I had Creme Brulee foam with frangelico caramel. My partner opted for peanut butter and jelly doughnuts. Scrumptious. To finish we had two coffees. This was the only disappointing part of the meal. Overall - Well done.

Without doubt the best food in Dublin. Fabulous location in Malahide, staff who are friendly and attentive and a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. I'd Pate for starters the likes of which I never tasted before, melt in your mouth. Then opted for their unique Bovine menu which they offer in conjunction with the normal menu for beef lovers. My fillet steak so was so tender I didnt even need a steak knife! Couldnt decide between two deserts so the waitress brought both, now that's service!
Couldnt recommend this restaurant enough - try it for yourself, you wont be disappointed!

i like this restaurant normal service and food was impeccable when i went there. was also there for tribute to el bulli night and it took way too long and was underwhelming to say the least. went back for the noma tribute night and it was much better. best course was yoghurt parfait with mangetout, celery, peas and mint oil. a brilliantly simple dish. worst dish was apparently an apple course which was in fact apple sauce with a tastless weak hazlenut foam. pointless... but overall food was enjoyable, service ok and atmosphere decent

We had lunch here and decided upon the tasting menu. It was fantastic. Great Value, amazing service. There were only a few fish courses which i was happy with as i just wasn't in the mood for salmon tartare. The smallest of gripes, was dessert, I always enjoy something with chocolate or something refreshing. We got a brac style cake with dates. Saying that, i'm still looking forward to my next visit. One of my favourite restaurants in Dublin

I got a grab one voucher for €60 worth of food. The service ok, the food was very good but even with the €60 voucher the bill still came to €170. We were charged €25 for 2 very small glasses of champaign and €5 for a bottle of water. We left feeling very dissatisfied and will not be returning

2.0 Bon Appetit Brasserie 2.0 star review:
Having booked Bon Apetit for our friends 50th birthday, we were terribly disappointed to be put in the basement brasserie, when we expected to be in the main restaurant. It was a beautiful sunny day and to be stuck in a basement with hardly any other diners was very depressing, and we were not told on booking that this would be case. Our meal was overpriced for a tasting menu, just that, a taste of 5 courses, and even our main course was the same meat as one of the starters, pork which was quite obviously cheap cuts, and two of our main courses had very bad quality pork to boot. When we arrived there was a party, who had obviously booked the whole of the upper floor and we were glared at like "where are you going" without even a welcome or an apology for the behaviour. The only nice thing about the whole event was that our waitress was a very nice girl, although she knew little or nothing about any of our questions on the food.
We were embarassed for our friend whose birthday we were supposed to be celebrating, it was more like a wake.
