Aqua Restaurant 5.0 star review: Myself and my husband had a really great meal here on Sunday. I had the crab claws to start and my husband had the prawn and crab spring roll, both were excellent. We both had the monkfish for main with a side of cabbage with bacon which was devine. And a bottle of the house red was good value at €24 and very drinkable too.

Aqua Restaurant 5.0 star review: Party of 4 went to Aqua with a Rewarding Times Voucher.
We were given the full a le cart menu and had plenty to choose from. We had 4 starters of 2 x Rissotto, Crab Claws and pate followed by 2 excellent Fillet steaks, fish and duck, washed down by a very nice bottle of house red wine. followed by sweet and coffee. The staff were excellent, very friendly, attentive and unobtrusive, and the setting is to die for with some fantastic views over Howth village and harbour. We will have no hesitation in returning to Aqua again.

Aqua Restaurant 4.0 star review: We were a large table of 14 and this included 3 kids. The food was top quality and the small portions for the kids were great. The great thing is they know how to look after kids and this helps keeping them quiet and entertained. Recommended for a family outing but the old saying this stands, 'you pay for what you get' and it is probably a little more expensive than the average restaurant.

Aqua Restaurant 4.0 star review: Went to Aqua with my partner and son recently for Sunday lunch. It was a lovely sunny day and they offered us a pair of sunglasses which I thought was a nice took. The staff were very attentive and professional especially the manageress. The restaurant was very busy which created a good atmosphere. We had seafood chowder which had a bit more veg than seafood, but very tasty. Mussels were also very appetizing and quite plentiful. We liked this restaurant at the sea which is one of its attractions. I felt the place could do with a total revamp as it is a bit jaded looking.

Aqua Restaurant 5.0 star review: I had Lobster Cocktail which was lovely( if a bit small) followed by my favourite Calamari in a tomato and chilli sauce. Partner had a large lobster, not cheap, but worth every euro for the sheer enjoyment and taste. We shared a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and finished with a latte and a cappuccino. We thoroughly enjoyed eating here, great atmosphere, friendly efficient staff and prices were acceptable for a restaurant of this standard.
Although the restaurant is upstairs a stair lift was available for those who needed it, a nice touch and other restaurants should take note. Ten out of ten for that.
Would love to return.

Aqua Restaurant 2.0 star review: Aqua had been on our list of restaurants to visit for a while now and I suppose we must have built up a certain level of expectation. Unfortunately, overall, these expectations were not met.
The setting is fantastic, there is a sublime view of the sea and Ireland's Eye. Aside from that our experience was decidedly underwhelming.
I ordered the yellowfin tuna starter, it was pretty tasty, but I regretted ordering it in retrospect considering that Aqua is practically IN the Irish Sea and I was eating imported, non-indigenous fish. My wife had the calamari, which again was cooked well, but came with an odd pesto dressing.
Generally speaking, the starters were relatively good, but the mains were what let Aqua down.
I ordered turbot and my wife had monkfish. Both fish were completely overcooked and as a result were quite chewy. I personally believe this is unforgivable for any restaurant, but especially for one purporting to provide "the highest quality seafood dishes".
To be fair to Aqua, we shared a tiramisu which was delicious.
I just get the impression that Aqua is somewhat resting on their reputation and aren't focusing on quality, which is a shame since they have access to the finest and freshest ingredients on the East coast.
I know from experience that there are much cheaper places in Howth which offer really good food at reasonable prices.
I won't be returning to Aqua.

Aqua Restaurant 4.0 star review: 3 of us went to Aqua for dinner. Delighted to get a table by the window and the view was amazing overlooking the sea. We had Lobster Thermidor, Chiken liver pate, as starters and Dover sole & calamari as main. Food was excellent and service was attention to detail. Our daughter had fish goujons and would love to say she was very happy. Would definately like to recommed to others. Good food at good value.
