4.5 Washerwomans Hill 4.5 star review:
Went with my wife for her birthday and had a lovely time, She chose the fish which was lovely but all the while she was looking at my steak on a stone ! The steak comes fairly rare but I continued to let it cook on the hot stone as I like it more medium. The portions are very generous and the bill was very reasonable. I also loved the little outdoor area to sneak a quick cigarette. Overall I loved it and will be back. PS If you ever add liver and onions to your menu, email me !!

Our family ate here recently, we had been to Washerwoman's a couple of times before and been disappointed but it is within walking distance from our home so it's handy. We heard they had new management and staff and I must say the waitress we had was absolutely lovely. We had a 2 year old and a 9 month old with us. The waitress paid special attention to our 2 year old asking her what she wanted to eat and drink which was lovely and of course she lapped it up. She even gave the waitress a hug and kiss when we were leaving. The food was much better, we usually go for the 3 course early bird menu as we're dining at about 5-6pm. The main menu does change a bit but the early bird menu doesn't. It would be nice if they mixed it up a bit but all in all enjoyable and we'll be back.

Definately one of my favourite restaurants in Dublin! The food is always fantastic and the staff are always so helpful and lovely! I have been to this restaurant on many occassions and they still manage to suprise me! Their steak on the stone is Gorgeous and is a definate must!! Also Thursdays in the Washerwomans Hill is ladies night so its a prefect excuse to go for a bottle of wine with the girls over some lovely food. Would highly recommend to anyone!

I have been visiting this restaurant since it opened and have never had a bad experience here. We went as a family recently to try their new steak on a stone as we had never had this in Ireland. We weren't disappointed! The quality, the presentation, the volume (for two hungry teenage sons) and the value were excellent. The fun factor must also be noted as the sizzling, spitting platters are carried through the restaurant, other diners craning to see what's on the wooden slabs! When new management took over, I was understandably concerned that The Washerwomans would lose its sparkle but no, they have kept up the standards of food, friendliness & efficiency in this gem of a restaurant. Five stars well deserved!

3.5 Washerwomans Hill 3.5 star review:
I hadn't been here for some years because past experiences were quite bad but I heard it had a new chef and new management and decided to get some friends together for Valentine's night. There were 8 of us in total. Once seated, we found it very difficult to get the attention of the staff although this changed as the night went on. The menu was good value. 3 courses for 26 euros. To start we had chicken fritters, fish cakes, pork belly and seafood chowder. The fritters and fishcakes were lovely but the pork belly was very fatty and we couldn't find any fish in the chowder! Our mains of Braised Beef, Confit of duck, Burger and Butternut Squash were quite tasty and there were no complaints. We all agreed we'd return.

Haven't been here for a while as last dining experience left an unpleasant taste in my mouth we had a very rude waiter who was possibly drunk. So with not much enthusiasm we set out again on Sunday evening, this time however it was so much different. We had a lovely waitress who we had never seen before, very friendly and helpful. We ordered a half carafe of house red but were unsure as to which one so we were offered a taste of both. The specials she recommended, leg of lamb steak were delicious and not at all what was expected, lean and tender and cooked just as ordered. When we arrived it was not too busy but soon flled up the attention and service was fantastic and the smile never slipped. It was really a nice dining experience and so relaxed, its about time this place had a few new faces and it seems to have worked well. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to next visit already.

Last review given I said we would return Very Very soon and we did the following Wednesday! and was not disappointed. Again popped down with two friends and we all cleared our plates (expect for dessert, and only because the belly just wouldn't allow it!). Two of us had the bbq chicken wings for starters which were lovely, if I had one criticism, it would be where was our finger rinse?? our two other guests opted for the garlic roast mushroom with pepperonata and salad of new season potato & crisp bacon both of the licked the plates clean (not literally but you know what I mean :)). For the mains I had the yogurt marinated chicken fillet ( had a kind of curry taste )with cous cous which was very satisfying. Two of the guests ordered gourmet steak burger which was HUGE. On my recommendation my friend opted for the salmon fillet with wild rice and she raved about it (phew!). All in all we found the washerwomans a great place to dine, It was nice to see that it is family friendly. There was a family dining beside us and while they raised the volume (just a little ;) ) it was great to see!

I went to the restaurant having bought an internet deal . On producing our voucher we were escorted upstairs even though downstairs wasn't full. Upstairs was completely empty and we were shunted into the corner on our own. It was totally devoid of atmosphere and we were treated quite badly for the rest of the evening, with a girl coming to attend to us every now and again. I was so annoyed at our treatment I can't remember what we ate but I do remember the sour taste it left in our mouths. Not a happy experience.
