Went here with a member of the family. We were using a Living and Social Voucher , which was for 32 oz Steak with sides and a cocktail.
The restaurant is at the back of a busy bar, but it is not that intrusive. Tables are well spaced. We were given a Bellini cocktail when we were seated and it was lovely. Our steak arrived and was taken away to be carved. I was really worried about the lack of salt and pepper identified by another poster. However, the steak was very well seasoned as was the chips ordered. In fact too well seasoned for my taste, which was a pity as the steak itself was very good and presentation was also good.
I really think this seasoning carry on is a bit pretentious and suggests a Chef more concerned with his / her ego than his / her customers. Just season modestly and let the customer add salt and pepper to personal taste.
Desserts were good and service was friendly.

My boyfriend got a voucher for his birthday from family - we shared wings to start and then and we opted for the 36oz steak to share! Starter was really nice, really good quality meaty wings and such a huge bowl of them! i dont know how 1 person would have eaten them all to be honest. Only minor issue was they didnt give wipes or water to clean your fingers afterwards and I felt bad wiping them on the nice linen napkins! But that isnt a complaint more an observation
THe main was fantastic, it was huge and well we struggled to finish it that probably had something to do with the wings! Other than the steak I didnt see much else on the mneu that I would hate eaten, but once steak is there its probably not a neccessity.
Lovely place, realyl nice staff - no real complaints! o and i forgot to mention we barely noticed the packed bar at the front of the building !

We visited the Library for the first time last Tuesday and we will definitely visit again.
We had a voucher for a 36 Oz steak which came with two sides. Delicious - sides were fantastic, maybe slightly small for sharing as we did, but along with the steak it was plenty.
The staff were lovely, polite and attentive. The place was quite vibey, even for a Tuesday night.
I would recommend a visit for sure.

Decided to go for the 36oz steak with a friend. The venue is nicely decorated, tables properly spaced, waiting staff friendly, so far so good. Ordered drinks, promptly arrived. Our waitress brought us the steak to view, looked delicious. Shortly it was presented to us carved and cooked medium as requested. Unfortunately the condiments are but a thimble of pepper sauce and another of garlic butter. A THIMBLE. The word in caps matches the dimensions of the container of sauce two people are to share with a 36oz steak. To make matters worse there is no salt or pepper available in this restaurant. I had heard murmurings from others tables regarding salt, now that made sense. I attempted to enjoy it as it was presented. I wasn't truly enjoying it. I don't eat plain steaks. I have purchased an expensive meal and I am not allowed to enjoy it because of the chefs preferences? Very Strange. After about five minutes of eating without proper enjoyment I decided that I simply needed salt to continue. I did it: I asked for the salt. The waiter looked at me like I had said something extremely taboo. He left the restaurant and eventually came back with salt. I could see others diners looking at it, with envy. I used it once and wow, it made the steak really tasty. I wasn't cheeky enough to ask for pepper, though it would have made the steak even better. The waitress eyes up my salt on each passing, on her third pass she takes the salt and gives it to another relieved customer. I only wish I had used it once more before that; I had plenty of food left to eat and had not realised I had only been permitted a limited time to use it, if only I'd salted everything. I couldn't continue with the meal. It was very frustrating. I didn't want to ask for salt again as it was making me feel like I was being a nuisance. Perhaps wanting salt and pepper is fussy in people's eyes. Maybe I'm not the right clientele for this restaurant. I did mention the situation to the waitress when paying our bill and she advised that in many Michelin star restaurants there is no salt and pepper and that the chefs seasons the food accordingly. But this steak wasn't seasoned in any way I could tell and this chef is not a Michelin star chef; if he was I would accept that I must eat exactly as he dictates; but he has not earned that right and I wonder why he exercises that authority for merely placing a quality meat on a pan for a set amount of time? If you are going here, before hand drop into McDonalds and grab some salt and pepper sachets if you like such devilish items!!

Ate here on Friday night after attending the Concert Hall so didn't get there till almost 10.15pm. Despite our late arrival the staff were brilliant and did not make us feel like we had to rush our meal. While there was loud music coming from the bar, we were told this had only started at 10pm so you may like to eat earlier if you'd like a quieter ambience! We ordered Gambas Pil Pil to share as a starter, which was absolutely delicious. The Porterhouse Steak (a 38oz T-Bone for sharing) was brought to our table before being brought back to the kitchen to be carved up and served on a platter with sauces and salad. Sides of hand cut fries and onion rings were also excellent. The staff are a huge asset to this place, hope it does well.
