Our story is inspired by the adventure that is Track 61, an abandoned underground platform under the famous Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York. This platform allowed VIPs to enter the hotel in a more private manner via a specially built private golden lift. One of the most famous VIPs that frequently used the platform was Franklin D. Roosevelt. Legend has it that Roosevelt’s armor-plated car would drive off the train, onto the platform and straight into the especially made golden elevator, which would lead to the hotel’s garage.

In 1965 the platform was used by the famous pop artist Andy Warhol for his ‘underground party’.

The quest for the platform, known as Track 61 has become a holy grail for many urban explorers.

Visit us @ 27 South William street and discover the holly grail for the urban foodies!

It was our first time there and we had a voucher. From the moment we arrived the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were very friendly. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely go back.

A hidden Gem, Went for dinner last night to this gorgeous little restaurant hidden in a basement on South William Street. The atmosphere is lovely, staff very friendly and attentive. Food was amazing and plenty of it. Service a bit relaxed but nice not to be rushed. Will definitely be going back and also telling friends about it. Lovely evening

5 stars all round. A really fab family night out. We would highly recommend Platform 61 and have already planned to go there again in a couple weeks with some friends. The voucher system with Menupages was great and offered good value. Remember wine is paid for separately. Congrats Platform 61 on the wonderful food ideas and flavours.

Restaurant difficult to locate -signage poor & initial impression from street not encouraging . In a "cellar" --access via steep steps . However on arrival very welcoming with friendly/efficient service Atmosphere poor but only 2 other diners [ Tuesday ] & expect vast improvement with more tables occupied. Food excellent . Will make a return visit .

The service was really slow. It took about 15 minutes to take our order then 40 minutes before the starters arrived and a further 40 minuted before the main course arrived. The food was tasty, but spoiled by the poor service.

The room was very nice. The waiter was very professional and friendly. I had the Bruchetta and my Husband had the Chicken Skewers both were excellent. For mains we had the Streak which was cooked to perfection and the Hake which was so fresh. My Husband had the Creme Brulee which he said was very good. The House wine was very reasonable and it was very nice.I can't wait to go back.

If we hadn't had a voucher this visit would have rated 3 star in every category. As a previous review stated, you got what you paid for. Portions were a bit on the small side. My husband doesn't have a huge appetite but he suggested that we might need to stop at a chipper on the way home. We were seated at a table right beside the busy kitchen door so it didn't make for a relaxing evening. The chicken skewer starter was meant to have a chimichurri sauce but there appeared to be a creamy type sauce instead. The chicken and hake mains were nice but small. We skipped dessert and headed home disappointed. While we were dining the table beside us had 2 separate parties occupy it. The first party was 2 girls who ordered a glass of wine each whole they looked the menu. They drank up, left the cost of the drinks and left. The 2nd party was a family group. They again only ordered drinks. As we left just after their drinks arrived I don't know if they ordered food either. Wouldn't go back.

Weekday night and restaurant quite empty, therefore no atmosphere. Service was very good. Food was nice but I would have considered it expensive for what we got had we not have had a voucher.
