Fantastic atmosphere and attentive staff. However my celeriac puree in my starter had curdled and was still sent out to me and my medium well steak was sent out well done (no pink left what so ever and sliced through the middle, I presume by chef to make sure it was well done!). I informed the waiter that my steak was well done and not med well and he told me that is what med well looks like! I asked him what the difference then is between med well and well and he said well is just drier! I'm sorry but that is just not true! Med well should have a thin layer of pink in the middle. That bugged me. Now the waiter did offer to replace the steak for me but I said I'd eat it anyway. I didn't want to sit and wait while my husband was tucking into his dinner! I was given in dessert on the house. They didn't have what I ordered but I was brought something else which was delicious. Overall, it was expensive and unfortunately the food was just not up to scratch for me. I won't be back.

Went along for my first visit with my sister and really enjoyed our evening. The service was excellent, offers of wine tasting when we couldn't decide which wine to buy, offers of more toast for my pate starter and just good old fashioned service with a smile. Food was delish and we ended up after our meal in their bar area where the atmosphere was fantastic The decor was real old fashioned and just beautiful. My first visit will not be my last.

Quite a mediocre restaurant considering all the wonderful things I had been told. Very pricey - a meal for two came in at 133euro and although the food was delicious - main courses were unfortunately a little plain in terms of presentation - the biggest let-down was the service. Staff were falling over themselves to please some parties, while we were not checked at all during the main course, and were ignored as we left, despite spending a considerable amount. Would not return.

Lovely atmospheric restaurant, luxurious booths, spent ages playing 'name the celeb' from the many pics hanging on the walls. There were also plenty of smiling faces from the staff. Great quality food and great service but a bit pricey - best for special occasions.

Been twice and loved the place. Staff are so friendly, helpful and attentive. Good value for money considering the status of the restaurant. Food was gorgeous both times I went and the desserts are to die for as are the vegetables, even for a non vegetable lover. Love the atmosphere and the photos of the famous people who went there. Love the plush velvet seating and mirrors. Feels like a special treat to go there. Just gorgeous, a must for foodies. Best meal I've had in a long time.

Must agree with other reviewers, the atmosphere here is fantastic and staff are so attentive and friendly, not stiff at all, very relaxed vibe. Went for the 25 euro pre-theatre which was very good value for 3 courses when you consider most mains on the a la carte are 20-30 quid on their own. The goats cheese starter was fantastic, chicken main was just ok (a little bit dry) and the pecan pie was gorgeous. I'd recommend this place in a heartbeat, but would go for a different main next time ;-)

Wow, I have never had a bad meal here but my luck ran out, just before Christmas and I was greatly disappointed. The service and atmosphere, as always, were excellent but the quality of the food, this time around, left a lot to be desired. Maybe my friend and I were unlucky and hit an off night? We left, still hungry and very disastified. We were given free coffees as an apology for the mix up with our orders but to be honest, it was too small a gesture for the inconvenience we suffered. Trocaderos is too expensive for such mistakes, not in these recessionary times.

I have eaten here with my partner a few times this year - it is always busy and it is hard to get a table by just showing up - always a good sign. The food is always excellant and the staff are very good. They are the perfect level of attentive and nothing is too much trouble. There was a bit of a mix up with our order, there were many apologies and complimentary Irish Coffees were offered and I was able to get mine made with decaf coffee. The tables are nicely laid out so you are not squahed up against other people. A bit pricey but worth it as you know you will be served lovely food each time by lovely people.
