4.5 Rigby's Deli and Dining Room 4.5 star review:
I love this place. In my eyes its very trendy and a little gem. Great value for amazing food and the fact that you can bring your own alcohol is a recession buster. No menu so you get a choice between starters and main courses when you arrive. This is brilliant because you usually end up going for something you would never have . Everything is delicous so its not a risk. Cannot wait until I go there again

We had booked to go this this restaurant for a table at 7. When we arrived it was freezing inside (it was pouring rain outside), the door was half open. We we shown to our table and immediately i was told we need the table back by 9, this I was not told at the time of booking & in fact had called twice re our booking. The table was small, the chairs felt like garden chairs, very uncomfortable and again very cold. My huband looked at me and said lets go, this is not great and we hadn't even seen the menu. As we got to leave we were then told it is ok you can have the table, please stay, but it was a cold and uninviting restaurant.

5.0 Rigby's Deli and Dining Room 5.0 star review:
I had dinner in the dame street branch the other day and was blown away by the experience I had.I had pan fried duck breast salad to start and followed that with seared marinated stripping beef. with dishes were moist, flavoursome bad well constructed. The presentation and service was excellent. The waiters were friendly and chatty. my table of 4 had 3 bottles of wine at 19 euro each.
Dessert was a chocolate and apricot tart which went down very well with my party. I was also pleased with their illy coffee.
I will definitely be back.

Eight of us sat down here for dinner in the Dame Street branch.
I got the wine shop on Baggot Street to deliver a mixed case to the restaurant on the day of our booking.
When we arrived the Champagne & the whites were nicely chilled and the reds were left a room temperature. This is a brilliant restaurant to bring your own as there's no corkage charge and our friendly waitress looked after us for the night.
The menu is small enough, there were two main courses on that night..beef & sea bass, and two starters. One of the group was a vegetarian, so they made up a wild mushroom risotto for her, which had some of the meat eaters salivating.
Overall the food was very well executed and Rigby's Deli is a great new addition to eating out in Dublin

2.0 Rigby's Deli and Dining Room 2.0 star review:
overall very disappointing experience. A group of 8 of us went here, booked 2 months in advance & confirmed 1 week before the date. On arrival they only had seating for 6! As the restaurant is very small & was full they couldn;t solve the problem. So we ended up squeezing 8 people into 6 spaces.
Starters were lovely - chcken or scallops, tasted lovely & nicely presented but portion sizes very mean. Mains of duck or sea bream, again nice options & meat.fish quality was good but lack of side dishes/veg/potatoes meant we were all still hungry. Desert was cheeseboard or pancetta - we all opted for cheese board to help fill the gap. At 40 euro a head, it was WAY over priced compared to other venues in Dublin that are serving a wider menu choice & more food.
The only plus side to this restaurant is the BYOB.
I wouldn;t go back again.

I have to say I really enjoyed the no menu idea, even though it wasn't the best food id ever had, id still go back for some surprises. We were given a choice of two starters and two mains for the early bird, both starters were very tasty, we tried the fish and the chicken. For the main we both went for the meat which happened to be pork, there was some chops and some pork belly, the belly was very tasty but the chops were a bit dry which made them feel pretty regular so I was fairly disappointed with that. I got the cheese board for desert and it was really tasty but at 9 euro I kind of regret getting it. The service and atmosphere was great, its pretty funky that its also an art gallery, also the bring your own beer was a definite win for it. overall I found it a cool spot, will return but not to frequently because I wasn't that impressed with the value.

4.0 Rigby's Deli and Dining Room 4.0 star review:
I was in the Dame street version of Rigby's early on Saturday evening and I have to say it was the most disappointing meal out I've ever had. I had the two fish dishes and my partner had the two meat dishes. He faired much better than I did, they were both very tasty is a little safe.
The starter fish dish was shark on a pile of seafood in creme freche, it was pretty tastless, there was some kind of foam around the plate but it added nothing to the dish, the shark itself was very nice but as for the rest of it, I could have made it at home.
The main course was a diseaster, lemon sole in a vanilla sauce.. It was a creamy vanilla sauce so it was like having melted ice-cream with my fish. I couldn't figure out how the sole was cooked but it was quiet soggy and again pretty tasteless. I was so disappointed with my meal we didn't even look at deserts.
I think I had high hopes for this restaurant as I love the idea of the chef finding good ingredients and focusing all their energy into making only a few really special dishes. Unfortunately I didn't find this to be the case.
A final note on service, the staff were very distracted for an empty dining room and had very little information on what the dishes contained apart from lemon sole/pork. with only four dishes to remember it cant' be that hard to remember a few of the details about each dish!
Perhaps it's a different story up on leeson street, but i'm not sure I'll take that chance

This little place was some find! The staff are really nice and the food is fantastic! I was a little worried with the "no menu" idea as am a vegetarian and would only have one option but was not disappointed (and all the meat eaters loved their meals as well). The byob really made the whole night very reasonable and even though our party were finished our meal the staff let us stay and finish our wine without rushing us out the door. even opened a bottle of our wine after we'd finished our meal. very nice place and i will definitely be back!

I like the vibe at Rigby's. My brother had been a few times and had built up my expectations; I was happy with our visit. A small, smart restaurant with a fairly homely feel. I was glad to see the food being prepared out in the open. I had the small breakfast comprising of scrambled eggs, sausage, tomato, bacon and pudding with two huge slices of toast. The eggs were really good - creamy and well seasoned. The sausage was interesting and full of flavour. I wasn't overly keen on the pudding. The coffee was good and strong. My wife had the porridge - it wasn't great - neither of us are huge fans of cinnamon and it was fairly well laced. Having said that an overall good experience and good value. I would be keen to go back and try lunch and or dinner. Don't go if under time pressure. Also, any restaurant these days that offers BYOB is ahead of the game recession-wise, I like it.

5.0 Rigby's Deli and Dining Room 5.0 star review:
We went here as a group of four based on a review and we were not disappointed. The no menu idea is a welcome change from the norm.
The menu the night we went was a choice of 2 starters, 2 main courses and 2 desserts. Three of our group had the marinated seafood salad, really tasty and nicely presented. The other party member had the spiced beef salad and gave it a thumbs up.
For main courses, the choice was either chicken or fish. It seems pork had been the dish earlier but was sold out & the chef had moved to chicken. Three of us had the fish - panfried gunard on a bed of mashed potato and roasted fennel bulb. The chicken was panfried and roasted with a jus served with baby potatoes & roasted fennel bulb. No one left anything on their plates so that tells you how good it was. Three of us were happy with the portions, one person would have liked a bit more fish.
The dessert choice was a cheese plate or a ginger & white chocolate panna cotta. Three of us partook in dessert & all happy. A double expresso, a cappucino & a regular coffee rounded off the evening.
All in all an excellent meal & great value at €109.00 in total. We all agreed the restaurant was perfect for a small group of 4 or 6. There was a good buzz in the place.
The fact you can see the courses being cooked & then served by the chef is something I liked. There were only 2 other people working there & the service was friendly, professional & efficient.
The restaurant is tidy in size in fact very like a French bistro as tables are sited close to one another. It adds to the atmosphere. All in all an eclectic experience.
