One of the coolest places in Dublin by a long shot. Had dinner upstairs with cocktails. Firstly the dinner menu is decent but what really won me over were the cocktails. nnHad a lovely waiter/barman who ran us through the menu. He made some great recommendations on cocktails and even tailored one for me as I'm not a massive fan of sweet cocktails. Back in Black was an absolute stand out for me. Loved the metal glass it was served in too.nnI had the steak which was very nice, little pricey though. But to be fair it's a decent price for town so I didn't mind paying at all. Genuinely loved the decor, the ambience is brilliant and the staff are great craic. Would seriously recommend to any couples looking for a great night out.

Gorgeous! As other reviewers say, the staff are brilliant - so welcoming an accommodating! I rarely leave reviews but I had to write this one as they really went out of their way for us. I have a severe food intolerance of an ingredient that is in most dishes and a lot of places disregard it or make me feel like a nuisance whereas the staff in Peruke couldn't have been more helpful. I asked if it was contained in one item and not only did the waiter check with the chef to be 100% sure, he went through the ingredients of the whole menu with the chef for me and said they could amend most of the dishes depending on what I wanted. It's a pity that this kind of service is a bit of a rarity but it means I'll be visiting here a whole lot more from now on! I can't comment on the cocktails really as I was driving, but I did get an non-alcoholic one that I would probably choose again the next time even if I wasn't driving as it was absolutely delicious! Peruke & Periwig It have a great location and the small Bar tha tyou pass through to get to the restaurant is good . Also I really like the decor its very old world and provides a great athmosphere. FOOD : so with regard to the Food firstly the place is too dark so you can barely read the limited menu. I ordered the Rib-eye , and I do like a bit of marbling on my steak but I payed 30 Euro if a piece of gristle. I also ordered a side of the seasonal Veg which was raw turnip/potato/carrot I have never been given spud as a side vegetable before so I was not having that. overall nice place to go for a drink but the food is not good enough for me by along way.

Went with a group. Food was very disappointing and very overpriced. Set menu 2 courses €35 3 courses €45 - very limited choice - starters of soup, liver parfait (which was runny and tasted sour) or goats cheese. Mains of Beef (stringy and fully of fat) chicken or hake). Deserts was basic as well. Nothing wow on the menu - very cheap menu to produce and a complete rip off. Would not be recommending it or visiting again.

went to café en siene for the sunday jazz music and didn't realize food stopped at 5 on sundays so headed up the street and ended up in this restaurant/bar its a great little place like walking back in time enjoyed a cocktail in the bar and then went up to dining area I thought we were in paris 2 starters 2 mains and 4 glasses of processco 86 euro great value pork belly to start very well cooked pan roasted cod and chicken for mains portions very generous really enjoyed the atmosphere if you haven't been there its worth a drink at least if you can get in the door as it is very small

Great spot for a special night out. Was here for my birthday and the cocktails are amazing. Loved watching the detail and time that the waiter put into the drinks. Pricey place but the atmosphere is lovely. Well worth a visit for a special occasion

Meeting for a friends bday so I suggested Peruke.Booked table 6.30pm on Sunday,food menus handed out,we had to ask for wine menu,waiter discussed the 3options available&when; we asked,he gave us a taster of2,we selected bottle of house(its firstname.lastname@example.org).Waiter gave us a few minutes to go over menu(not many options&absolutely; no sign of Sunday roast as advertised on their www).When he returned I said it was going to be pork belly all round–at which point he said oh I don’t think we have any,he proceeded to check his notebook(there's only 5starters-he should have known immediately)&then; told us that he had no pork belly&no; chicken liver parfait which should have been communicated to us on arrival/before we ordered wine.It left us with 3 starters,so 2 of us ordered soup (pea & ham with brown bread which was good value at 5 euro),smoked salmon(11 euro)&beetroot;(10 euro).Soup arrived-we had no spoons,we had to ask for butter for brown bread-the waiter served another table of 6 ppl&then; brought butter-soup was nearly gone at this point.The smoked salmon & beetroot dishes were tiny&didnt; warrant the price.For mains we had lamb(24)/chicken(19)/beef(20)/cod(22)&2sides; of fries which were horriblegreasy&soggy;.The cod looked good but was again small for the price. Beef was tasty but was a bit more like brisket than 20 euro cut of prime beef.My lamb was overcooked(despite requesting medium)&although; tasty it came with the most disgusting fondant potato that really took away from the dish,there was barely any Jus and it certainly did not warrant the 24 euro price tag.The chicken dish was the real disaster–it seemed to consist mainly of potato puree with a LOT of chicken jus that looked more like bisto beef gravy.We think it was to hide the fact that there wasn’t very much chicken in the bowl.We weren’t asked how the meal was,or offered dessert/tea/coffee(not that we'd have risked another course!).We didnt leave a tip.Very disappointed & sorry I suggested Peruke-will not return

Great food, cosy atmosphere, absolutely amazing staff! We had a lovely time here- the bar staff were very helpful in helping us decide what cocktails to get and even suggesting their own twists to make them just right. Food was stunning- each morsel was very tasty and if you have the space, definitely get the chocolate fondant for the pistachio custard! A must go at least once ('cos after that you will be back many a time!).
