The original team behind BANG Cafe are back together in the beautiful and comfortable Il Segreto Restaurant. Located just off St Stephens Green on Merrion Row in Dublin 2 , Il Segreto offers modern European cuisine at is affordable and consistent best. On top of our exciting new menu we have re-introduced some of our old favourites such as The Pan Fried Scallops with mousseline potatoes, pancetta and garlic butter and the Scandinavian Iced Berries with hot white chocolate sauce. Along with our award winning head chef Lorcan Cribben, Simon and Christian Stokes have over 10 years experience in the restaurant industry. The concept for Il Segreto is an affordable and professional dining experience using fresh ingredients delivered daily on all our menus while creating a relaxed atmosphere in which our customers can enjoy their meal whatever the occasion may be. The menu whether it’s our lunch or dinner menu, the excellent value pre theatre menu, our wine menu or cocktail menu or it’s that special menu that you have chosen for your party or event, they will always be treated by the team here with the highest standards to ensure that our aim of quality, consistency and affordability are met. We have a fantastic cocktail bar situated on the ground floor where our award winning mixologists can make that perfect pre dinner drink or post dinner cocktail. With live music every Friday and Saturday night the cocktail bar is ideally located to listen and enjoy the music or if you have your dancing shoes on you are welcome to dance the night away! On the first floor we have 2 sun kissed terraces on which you can dine, have a cigar and brandy or simply enjoy the sun while holding a daiquiri. Our terraces are the perfect outdoor spot to unwind day or night. Il Segreto is open for dinner from Wednesday to Sunday night from 5 pm each night and for Lunch on Thursday and Friday from 12 pm. Went for an Xmas party with a group of 10 friends. We ate from the €45 set menu & the food was excellent. I had quail to start & venison for main which was top class. I wouldn't have a sweet tooth but the waitress had no problem bringing me a cheeseboard even though it wasn't part of the menu. Staff were brilliant & had no problem engaging with the group. Have been recommending the restaurant to friends ever since dining there.

A superb night. We booked for a late Christmas get together and luckily were able to secure a table at short notice. The food was gorgeous, I had chicken for my main and the rest of the party tried almost weverthing else on the menu. Its such a busy place and the waiting staff are efficient and nice. Overall I would highly recommend this place.

Second visit in a year and its gone up hugely in my estimation. For large grouped xmas parties food is normally thrown out of the kitchen but there was no sign of that. Scallop starter - devine. Monkfish main course - devine. Can't fault the food on taste, presentation or portion size. Service a little slow and lacked attention but atmosphere made up for it. Highly recommended.
