Dublin's hottest, hip and much talked about restaurant Fire on Dawson is comfortable 200 seat eclectic restaurant, a food lover's haven situated to the left of the Lord Mayor's Residence in the heart of Dublins' city centre. Offering a modern European menu with a twist, Fire on Dawson offers something mouth-watering to suit every taste. The tantalising lunch menu is available Thursday to Saturday, whilst the pre theatre menu runs 6 days a week. The a la carte menu is also available from 5.30pm Monday - Wednesday, or from 5pm Thursday to Saturday. With its stylish interior & new refurbished heated terrace, Fire provides a unique setting for a memorable dining experience. An absolute must to anyone visiting Dublin. In light of the 4.5% VAT reduction on restaurant food, Fire is delighted to have passed on a 5% saving on every dish to all our customers. Effective from the 1st July 2011.

Arrived to be greeted by a lovely host who took care of our coats straight away. Had a great table for 6 in the centre of the restaurant. Some nibbles of cheeses / meats / breads arrived, which was a nice surprize. Myself, I had the prawns which came with 2 small pieces of brown bread; my friends had fish cakes and lamb skewers. All of which was nicely presented and very tasty. For mains we had steaks for 2, lamb, pork, chicken and prawns. Everything was cooked to perfection, I had the steak which was wonderful. Dessert was fabulous. All in all it came to around €311 for 5 starters, 6 mains and 5 desserts & 2 bottles of wine, about 55 euro per head after we had put some money towards a tip. The place is lovely, busy, nice staff the only 2 negatives I could find are: 1) There was quite a large table with children just behind us, after a while the children were running around the restaurant, by tables, around waiters carrying drinks / food. I think the head waiter should have asked the parents to keep the children seated, as I don't want to go to a nice restaurant and listen to children running by my table squealing (and also for obvious safely reasons, could run into a waiter and drop food etc.) 2) For the prices we paid, around 12 per head for starters and mains were all between 20-25 euro, I would have expected more veg / potatoes to be served with the food. My boyfriend complained of still being hungry after his meal! I would go again but only if I was going to have a pre-theatre as I do think 55 per head is a bit expensive.

Have eaten there twice in the past year and on both occasions have found the atmosphere pleasant, food very nice and service good. Will return again.

Work christmas lunch was on here on the Monday of Christmas Week. Hadnt been here before so was looking forward as people speak highly of Fire as a venue for dinner. The room is very nice and the atmosphere good in the venue which is adjoining the Mansion House. We all opted for the set €32.50 Christmas Lunch which offered good choice and as we were a group was subject to 10% service charge on top. In line with every Dublin City Centre Restaurant in the month of December this as a christmas offering was over priced. For Starters I had the Goats Cheese Bruschetta, Main course the Turkey Roulade with Mash Sausage Meat and Brussels sprouts, finishing off then with the zesty lemon tart. Food was OK and only that, portions small service was sluggish enough wasnt over enamoured with the food so not sure would go back. For a large group service was a bit sloppy at the start they gave us one small plate of bread, no bread plates we had to ask for these and the same with the tea and coffee after no milk jugs on the table. If you are going to charge thirty bucks plus for lunch you need to get the basics right.
