Damascus Gate is one of Dublin’s latest arrivals. Situated on
Upper Camden Street, it is conveniently located and a mere 5
minute walking distance from the Luas. This restaurant has gone
above and beyond the high standards of the Dublin restaurant industry
and the food is authentic and excellent. Damascus Gate specializes
in Syrian and Lebanese food. The restaurant itself is traditionally
furnished in keeping with the Middle Eastern experience and customers
will find the atmosphere there relaxed and vibrant. Wonderfully
attentive staff and plenty of choice for any vegetarians out there

We had a voucher (a dining room voucher)and found out when we got there that they don't except vouchers on bank holiday weekends but as I had booked so far in advance they let me use it and it did not state anywhere (that I could see) in the terms and conditions that it couldn't be used . It was early enough so the place was very quite. The waitress went through the menu with us as we were never there before. I have to say the food was excellent, a glass of house wine was included in out voucher and it was the nicest house wine I have ever had it was so nice we had a second glass. The staff were extremely friendly. It is a restaurant I will definitely be visiting again

My first time at Damascus Gate and I will definitely return. The reason I scored the food 3 stars is because the meat was overdone, lamb skewers and the quail. Everything else, however, was very good. We may have been slower than other people in eating our Mezza and the mains may have been waiting under a grill. I would have happily received the mains while we were eating the starter. The Baba Ganoush was particularly good as were the spinach and cheese parcels.

went here with my boyfriend for an early dinner....wow the food was amazing we took the recommendations of our friendly and professional waitress and an explosion of tastes followed. Highly recommend. I have scored low on the atmosphere as when we visited it was empty however it has a lovely decor.

We dined at 6pm - pre-theatre, so it was a little early to expect a buzzing atmosphere. Despite that we had gorgeous food - excellent presentation - brilliant value. Want to return to sample all the other tantalizing dishes on their menu. Staff delivered excellent service and were fully conversant with the dishes on the menu. In value terms I'd give 10 out of 5!

My third visit here and again very happy :) This time I shared one of the mezze's with friends and had the vegie moussaka. Both were delicious. You can tell the herbs are all fresh. In addition, they offered a great selection of fresh leaf teas (brought them all to the table) and served nuts as a gratuity this time as well. I've been here before for my birthday [try it! you won't be disappointed ;)] and the service is always great. The authentic music in background is a plus for me. If you haven't been yet, give it a try.

The food was delicious I had haloumi cheese salad for starter and vegetarian option for main, my fiancee had meatballs and we loved it, and the best thing is they serve fresh squeezed orange juice . Loads of options for 'us' vegetarians. Loved it
