AWARDS & PRIZES

We seek out the best establishments in every part of Ireland for inclusion in our guides and, because we work independently and without charging a fee, you know that we can be trusted to lead you to the best places over a wide range of categories. Good Food Ireland is an industry driven food tourism organisation which was established in November 2006. Many good food operators in a cross-section of establishments all around the island from restaurants to accommodation, pubs to food shops to cookery schools wanted to be recognised and endorsed for their commitment to using Irish, local and artisan food produce. They wanted to share experiences and be cooperatively marketed to the domestic and international tourist. Agriculture and Tourism, two vital economies for Ireland have so much in common and are yet so far apart. Through Good Food Ireland the industry from both these sectors share a common belief and come together as one. Good Food Ireland brings you the visitor or domestic consumer what we believe is the only way to get a true taste of Ireland. In 1900, André Michelin published the first edition of a guide to France to help drivers maintain their cars, find decent lodging, and eat well while touring. In 1926, the guide introduced the star to note good cooking; two and three stars were added in the early 1930s. The guide awards one to three stars to a small number of restaurants of outstanding quality. Fodors helps you unleash the possibilities of travel by providing the insights and tools you need to experience the trips you want. And we are confident that were giving you the best information because our products are written by people who live there. We seek to hire local writers who know their destinations better than anyone else. Our worldwide team of over 700 travel writers bring you the latest, most accurate coverage, and like trusted companions, reveal local treasures and everything you need to know before you arrive. Every year, the Bridgestone editors set out to find those restaurants that offer the best cooking and the best service in Ireland. This book features grand city restaurants, and tiny little one-room restaurants in the wilds of the country. There are restaurants located on islands, and restaurants that reverberate with the energy and mania of the city. The place was very busy.We had Caesar Salad it was very good. For mains we had a Burger which was cooked perfectly and Hake that was so fresh. For dessert we had Panna cotta and Pear Plum with rum and raisin ice cream both were fabulous. Then we had an espresso which very few restaurants get right, but it was perfect and an Americano which was very good. The waiter was very very busy but he didn't neglect us for one minute. He was probably one of the best waiters I have had serve me. Everything about this restaurant is run perfectly.

Brought a friend here recently for a birthday treat and had a very enjoyable night. Really tasty and well presented food and the staff were very pleasant and attentive even though they were extremely busy. It was particularly good value as I had bought the menu pages €60 voucher which covered 3 courses, bottle of house wine and a cocktail each. Worth watching for similar offer but I'd definitely pay full price too!

Bought a voucher of menu pages and booked a table for sat 14th. Silly me hadn't read the small print, the voucher was valid from Feb 1st, but the guys in the restaurant said they would honour the voucher for the night we went. Such an amazing place, great food and wonderful staff. Top notch!
