The Gallery Restaurant at the Church 4.5 star review: The Church is a really nice place, and the food is pretty good. Steak was really nicely cooked.

Only complaint would be that it is a little expensive for the food, but the atmosphe of an old church, watching the world below, really makes it worthwhile to spend.

The Gallery Restaurant at the Church 5.0 star review: My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday as a surprise so I didn't get a chance to check the reviews out online beforehand, which is probably a good thing! We had an amazing meal here. We went for the Early Bird which is great value, €19.95 for 2 courses and €23.95 for 3 courses. I got the organic cured salmon to start with and it was just lovely. It was nice and light, the perfect starter. My boyfriend got the duck leg which he said was fatty but in a good way! I got the plaice then for main course and the sauce that came with it was gorgeous. My boyfriend got the chicken for his main. I was a bit worried about the sauce as he is quite a picky eater but he loved it. We shared the chocolate fondant for dessert which was the ideal size for sharing after 2 large courses. We also shared a lovely bottle of Chardonnay, which was on the expensive side at €27 but the food was such good value, we felt we could splash out. Our wine was forgotten about until we were served our starter and we had to ask about it but the waitress was extremely apologetic and got it immediately. The last time we went out for dinner, the plates were taken away as soon as we were finished eating and the main courses delivered immediately. In The Church, the waitress gave us a few minutes after we finished before she came over and we had a good amount of time between courses, but not too much. We really enjoyed our evening here and will definitely be going back!

The Gallery Restaurant at the Church 4.0 star review: Went here as part of a work team event. I'd been here before and wasn't overly impressed with the food or the cocktails, but the folks I work with really wanted to go.

I personally love the atmosphere of the Church, and find the use of the building and the main pipe organ features to be a brilliant "recycle" of an otherwise disused building. The lighting they've selected is also charming as it adds a sort of intimate mood to the entire place.

The food value wise to me, was okay. The group had a choice of either a starter or dessert and a main. For the cost (35 euro a person) I would have expected at least one drink to be included, but it wasn't. So, figure ~40 a person which made me glad that I wasn't paying for the chicken dish that I had. The portion was reasonable but for a side & thigh, a bit of mash, and a handful of veg as well as a piece of apple tart a-la-mode, I would have expected more around 25 a person.

I note that they are advertising to tourists, which is fine, but I'm not sure what there is to say for the tourists - who could have cheaper food, at the same quality and similar atmosphere somewhere else.

The Gallery Restaurant at the Church 4.0 star review: A trip here last friday was anything but April Fool's day ! The food & service experienced here was top notch despite the bacon & cabbage being a tad salty. The fish dish was particularly pleasing. I'll be back !

The Gallery Restaurant at the Church 4.0 star review: My wonderful girlfrend took me to the Church for my birthday dinner. We were very impressed by the atmosphere. Situated in a refurbished 18th century church, the Gallery Restaurant sits in a ring along the upper level flanked on either side by the organ and a magnificent stained glass window, and overlooking what would have been the nave and sanctuary which now houses the main bar. We both ordered appetizers, my lady got the crostini with vegetables and brie, and I chose the soup which was some sort of carrot. Both of these were tasty. For the main course, the duck enticed my girlfriend, and I was pursuaded by the mushroom risotto. Although having heard that there were quite a few vegetarian choices on the menu, we were dissapointed to discover that there were, in fact, only three. The duck was good, well cooked and not greasy; the risotto, on the other hand, was undercooked, and the arborio rice was a little tough. We finished with the christmas pudding and a bailey's coffee for my special lady. All in all it was a nice experience, but I think it might be the atmosphere more than the food that keep people coming.

The Gallery Restaurant at the Church 5.0 star review: Visiting restaurant with my boyfriend, when we arrived 5 mins early the security woman / manager told me my booking was at 8pm, I advised her it was definately 8.30 but she mentioned it was 8 about 4/5 times. We were told to take a seat at the bar while they prepare our table, did so and she came back to admit her mistake, which I was happy about. Was brought to table, some of the menu was not available which was not great as my boyfriend is a picky eater but the staff were really pleasant, prob came to check everything ok a bit too much but that is not really a bad complaint. Food was delicious and was not rushed out the door after the meal. I would definately go again and recommend to my friends.

The Gallery Restaurant at the Church 3.0 star review: Was here for my Christmas party and the staff were great with dealing with such a large party. Got a steak for the mains which was rather tough and fatty, dessert was lovely. Didn't think it was great value for money.
