I went there in the middle of the week, we were very curious to try the food and to see the building from the inside, and the reviews for this place were all so good that we really had to give it a try! And we were not disappointed! The service was great, the food was sublime and the deserts melted in my mouth :) It's a bit expensive, but when the food is good and the waiters make you feel special, it's worth every penny :)

4.5 The Church Cafe Bar & Restaurant 4.5 star review:
Absolutely Fantastic! I have had several meals in the bar of The Church, but never in the Restaurant. The 30 euro menu deal for 4 courses is value for money and my dishes and my boyfriends dishes were fantastic. The service was 5 stars, one of the bests I've had in Ireland yet. I will definitely go there more often for a meal.

3.5 The Church Cafe Bar & Restaurant 3.5 star review:
On a lovely sunny day in Dublin, any place with outdoor dining is going to be busy. The Church today went through exactly this during lunchtime and I am just a little unsure how they were coping
Food was excellent value and very nice. We both had the lunch special which was a sandwich, soup and a soft drink for a tenner - excellent value and the quality was very good. Also had a side of the chilli and garlic chips which were very tasty also
I thiought the staff were being put under a bit of unncessary pressure by their manager and in some cases this was showing but not in all
Overall, I was satisfied but I could see some people around me waiting a bit too long for service as the place got busier

From the first moment I visited this place for drinks with friends last year I really fell in love with this place that why we choosed it here for lunch couple of days ago with friend I didnt see for ages but I stayed really dissapointed this time and I dont think Iam coming back again. After our arrival, choosing the table we were waiting 10mins for somebody to bring us menus or something, after another 15mins to wait that somebody will take our order I started to loose my feeling to even have food here when I saw that staff was just passing us without any look on our signals. I need to say that food was really nice, enjoyed all my plate really. After finished everything with empty plates and glasses another waiting for waitress, didnt even ask if we want anything else, we asked for bill, when nobody was coming I spent another 10mins waiting on the bar for somebody to pay my food, I can swear that three members of staff saw me from another side but nobody came if Im ok, when I finally payed my bill, said with my friend, that I never coming back. It is really pity because all the time I enjoyed my time spent in this place

I was first introduced to The Church yesterday evening. I was really looking forward to my visit as I had heard so much about it from my two daughters.
The service at first was good. The food was also good, but I'm afraid we never got to taste desert which looked very good. After finishing our main course, we waited in vain for our plates to cleared and our desert order taken. Although some of the staff and the manager looked our way several times, they ignored us, clearing other tables around us which had no customers. Other customers seemed to have no trouble getting attention.
After twenty minutes of this, someone eventually came over to us but it was too late. My daughters were disappointed having raved about the place for so long. They would both go there quite a lot with their friends.
After our experience on Wednesday, they will not be going back or recommending The Church to anyone else

Have eaten here a number of time, both in bar and in gallery restaurants. Lovely place. we eat in the bar, had guinness pie, was large portion, overdone in my view, but ok. other main was a salad, which was ok. Service was good, however, it did appear that there was not adequate staff, as waited for service, even the bill!! Worth a visit to view, food upstairs is better and early bird good value, good place for bite before going to the Gate Theatre.

Went here on Sunday with my boyfriend. No music, no atmosphere... We were waiting over 20 minutes for our coffee... Wasn't busy there. Not a friendly place at all...

I went to the church a couple of times, mainly only for drinks. It is overpriced but it is a nice location and atomosphere. I brought friends to the venue and we ate there the first time. The barfood was really good, i had the stew which was very tasty. And i tried the chicken wings which were fingerlicking good. My friend had the chilli burgere and was very pleased. So defenitely would go back there, but if you want a boozy night out - you need a big wallet.

Have been to the Church several times now, as its a handy place for staff and friends to meet on days off.
It's also got a lovely outdoor area on those once-in-a-lifetime sunny days.
The venue inside is quite impressive as well, and it doesnt stretch the imagination too much to see what it used to be before...if you managed to miss the name that is..
Haven't eaten proper sit-down meal here, but had the BBQ option here once, I think its €12, and all prepped in front of you - it was OK.
They have a great space, and good enough selection of drinks, which is why we keep returning, but please don't rely on the staff here - pretty hit-and-miss.
Huge space downstairs as well, so take a wander on your way back from the (very large) bathrooms...
