Party of 3 - friends out for an early bird meal. Food was beautiful. The starter of Char grilled Peach and Feta salad was so unusual and very tasty. We all chose Traditional fish & chips, one person had salad instead of the chips, not a problem and lovely variety in the salad. Coffee to finish. Highly recommend this restaurant and the staff are so friendly and helpful.

Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable staff and service. Our main courses were faultless. However one of our starters, 'Crispy Crubeens' was somewhat overcooked and dry.

I've been to this restaurant many times over the years and was always very happy with everything so was looking forward to treating my niece to dinner there. I had a voucher through menupages for 40 euro of food for 20 euro. I was disappointed with the main courses we got. As we had the voucher we had to order from the A la carte. However, I felt some corners were cut due to us having the voucher. My fish and chips came minus the pea puree and the other main course was quite small. The quality of the food was good, it was the quantity that let it down.

I thought the selection of starters was limited. Service was good.

Fabulous food service and value. The diners at the next table were recommending the lemon drizzle cake which they said was 'out of this world' and it was!

First time visiting this establishment. Online reviews looked and picture of set table with linen. Reality was somewhat different. Gastropub without the linen and a paper napkin. Tables are crowded together and many customers are there just for a drink. Definitely not fine dining but with fine dining prices. My starter was the scallops which was quite tasty but it was not a big portion and for the price I expected it to be in the "shell". My wife's starter was the chorizo salad. She was not impressed. For main course I had the lamb rump which was well cooked but without purchasing a side was small and insufficient. My wife's salmon main course was over-cooked. Dessert options on offer were restrictive. The ice cream offering was vanilla or strawberry. A poor choice. The chocolate banoffi was presented in a cup and was tasty. The dessert prices were high. This gastropub is noisy and space is cramped. The service was very poor and I had to ask if they had forgotten the order. Overall poor value for money, average food, small portions and below average service. I could not recommend this restaurant and am wondering whether previous reviewers were confusing it with somewhere else. Poor experience overall.

We were a fairly large group, and we all chose the €26 3-course set menu. A number of people chose the steak for their main course, which comes with a €5 surcharge. The food is acceptable, but certainly not amazing. When we got the bill, we found out that you are charged extra for a bit of sauce to go on the steak (in addition to the €5 surcharge), extra for tea and coffee, a barely drinkable bottle of New Zealand white wine is €30, a glass of wine is more than €6, so from €26 we each ended up paying €60, which is a total rip-off.
