Established in 2006 by local man Tom McKeon. The Aurora boasts really unique features for a pub of its kind and location. Situated on the corner of Eccles Street (Opposite The Mater Private) and close to The Children's Hospital, Temple Street, there is 3 floors to choose from (including a Function Room) in this lovely Victorian building, which steals the effervescent natural light from outside. Formerly 'Larry O'Rourkes' to which James Joyce alludes in Ulysees, there is a real traditional, solid IRISH CEAD MILE FAILTE to this pub "Come for the food and stay for the Craic" is exactly what you'll do at The Aurora, where all your needs can be catered for: A business lunch, quiet tete a tete, early bird or a pint and a bit of craic at the weekend where there's entertainment Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Hol Mondays.

Aurora Bar and Grill 5.0 star review: Five stars for the Aurora. As ever, great, efficient friendly service. Food was excellent and my partner is still talking about how good the venison burger was. All in all a great experience.

Aurora Bar and Grill 5.0 star review: Was here during the week on a hospital visit. Its ideal when you're in a bit of a hurry with an appointment. They were swinging at lunchtime. And it made the service seem effortless and buzzy. Our waitress was vas bubbly and pleasant and always remembers us.Ive eaten here before several times and always found it excellent. Tuesday was no disapointment. Had Roast Beef and Mammy had the Salmon. Really tasty. I overheard an older gentleman complimenting the owner on his staff and gave a "10" for everything, which he said he didnt give out often!! Its a little pricy but you get what you pay for!!! Cant recommend it highly enough.

Aurora Bar and Grill 2.0 star review: This place is below par. It looks fancy from outside, but inside it is nothing remarkable. The food wasn't awful, but it was not worth the price it goes for and as for the service it was atrocious. The waiter was moody, gave us wine instead of the soft drink we ordered and couldn't seem to get rid of us quick enough; not that other customers were queuing at the door. Waste of time and money.

Dear Claire K22. I wish to apologise on behalf of us all here at The Aurora, and we sincerely regret that you did not enjoy your experience. I would be very grateful if you could revert to me and I will discuss further with you, in person, your grievance. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Yours truly Tom

Aurora Bar and Grill 5.0 star review: Ate here yesterday after the match in Croker. There were 4 of us and we really enjoyed everything, starters, main courses and desserts. It was busy which meant our food was a little slow but the staff were excellent and looked after us very well, we were made feel very welcome and had a good laugh.
We'll definitely go back again. Steaks are to die for.

Aurora Bar and Grill 2.0 star review: Ate here recently for Dinner, I found the service quite slow. Food was fine but overpriced. More of a bar than a Restaurant/Diner.

Aurora Bar and Grill 3.0 star review: I went to Aurora for lunch recently. I had been there once or twice before, and on all of these occasions I have found it to be passable. The decor is fine, but lacks any discernible character. Personally I find the prices to be too high for the area of town and for the menu. That being said, the portions are sizable.

Aurora Bar and Grill 4.0 star review: I was advised by a friend to there. The food was good as her said. And very busy at that time I got there. But service was still good. All the things were wonderful I thought. I will be back when I get chance.

Aurora Bar and Grill 4.5 star review: I've been to Aurora a few times since my friend lives about 5 minutes away, there's always a great buzz in the place and they do a mean pint of Guinness! Last time a group of 4 of us were in for a fry up on a Saturday morning, we all went for the mixed grill which was really good ad exactly what we needed after Friday night! I've had a steak here in the past which was also lovely. Overall its not fine dining, its a step above pub grub at and great value for money

Aurora Bar and Grill 2.0 star review: When our meals came out they were lovely absolutely beautiful. I was eating my garlic bread cold which they never asked to replace due to the mix-up. And I little of my pasta with sauce mushroom and a little chicken when something stook to my pallet I said to my partner what is that? I took it out of my mouth wiped it with my napkin and passed it to my partner, he looked and said god I don’t know I said it looks like the skin from a scallion but as there was no onions in the dish I though it was weird. I left it on the side of my plate when the man came over to gather our plates I asked him what it was he looked and said I can’t really see I do not have my glasses on. He took my plate went off to the kitchen and came back to me, He then said that I did not have that in my mouth that I did not find that in my food and I asked what it was he said it was a bit of the skin from a Garlic, he said there is no way I got it in my food as they do not use fresh Garlic in their kitchen… I was disgusted what happened to the customer is always right??? i asked how the garlic bread was made he said its a bought in sauce. The man asked if we would like another drink but I was not long after getting this one so I said no im fine thank you and my partner was ready so he said yes ill have another one as the man walked off he said “on me”… When the bill came nothing was knocked off the price only one bottle of miller, no apology no nothing. What has happened to the service in resturante these days?
We paid the bill and left. I would not return.

Aurora Bar and Grill 4.5 star review: I was at the rugby in Croke Park on Saturday and popped in here before heading to the game. We needed a good warming feed to keep us going as it was freezing! I had the T-Bone with garlic butter which was excellent and my dad had the bangers and mash. We came back for a few pints to celebrate beating the world champions and the atmosphere in the place was great
